    The 100 Club

Makes interesting reading now, just how many goals do you think Stevie can score? Especially now he's playing in probably his most attacking role ever.

Another 4 or 5 seasons in all competitions scoring 20 goals a season he could well pass 200?

    Ian Rush 346
    Roger Hunt 286
    Gordon Hodgson 241
    Billy Liddell 228
    Robbie Fowler 176
    Kenny Dalglish 172
    Michael Owen 158
    Harry Chambers 151
    Jack Parkinson 130
    Sam Raybould 128
    Dick Forshaw 124
    Ian St John 118
    Steven Gerrard 117
    Jack Balmer 111
    John Barnes 108
    Kevin Keegan 100

I think he might catch and pass Owen and Chambers in the 150's but I doubt he'll catch Fowler and Dalglish in the 170's.

when stevie will start to lose a bit of pace in his 30s, he will be playing in a more deeper role(ala xabi), and not as forward as he is now. he has 2 maybe 3 more seasons in such an attacking role imo

He could easily score another 60 goals if he spends the rest of his career with us, he will still score 10-15 goals a season playing from deep at the end of his career with his shot.

I'm not sure, I hope you're right! But i'm not sure. He's 29 in May, I think he has 4 seasons left at his peak if we're lucky. In 4 seasons time he'll be 33, he will have lost some pace by then, which isn't a huge part of his game, but it's still important, hopefully he won't have any serious injuries.

The other thing to consider is what will he want when he can't play 2 games a week anymore and he's no longer the heartbeat of the team? I can't see him following Fowlers path, playing for smaller and smaller clubs, I might be wrong though.

As alot of his recent goals are from Peno's and Free Kicks his pace hardly comes into it....... And even from a deep role he will still get a chance to let of that cannon like shot of his.

Still capable of ten a seaon with no pace in my eyes.
                Forwards.......

That list actually makes you wonder how far Owen would have gotten, had he spent his career with us!

It does indeed. You'd expect him to be at at least 200 by now.

For sure and only his amount of injuries would have kept him from closing in on the 250 mark by now!

Amazing to think how great Owen could have been had he stayed at LFC. I think he could have broken the record with more luck with injuries.

Such a shame. Same goes for Robbie and McManaman though. For varying reasons all three could have achieved so much more. How did we get to a point where two left to further their career and one was cast aside so easily.
