If the ticket prices go up to £900 you might not be on the waiting list much longer.

Of course it's a big city with all the mod cons!
Just that not enough is known about Liverpool City & its surrounds itself outside of the Uk.
What with Liverpool being Capital Culture for the EU in 2008 would have raise awareness as to what the city can offer, it's not London, Paris, Milan enough for the player's wags!
Don't understimate the Wags influence on where the players move to.
We would need to sell the city to the Wags as more than half of them would never have been to Liverpool so would be ignorant about it.
The spanish armada in Liverpool is growing & would know a lot about the city so any future recruits from Spain would not have a hard time settling in.
I'm sure Gerrard would have instructed his wife to head up an informal group/community to help foriegn players wags & children to settle asap.
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

that is true but hope in a way it doesn't happen too soon as wouldn't like to see people shy away as a result of an increase.
I would be able to afford it ten times over but not at the expense of others not being able to afford it. I would be delighted to get one asap but it would leave a sour taste knowing that I only got it cos others couldn't afford it.

It's not necessarily whether someone can afford a season ticket, but whether they can justify the cost to themselves. Football is becoming ridiculously expensive compared to other forms of entertainment.

I wonder what many of the current season tickets holders would think of a hike to £900?
                Oh I don't know.

But I do think its something moores failed to act on, there's been talk of a new stadium for as long as I can remember and nothing was ever done about it, Moores seemed unable to make big decisions and was happy for things to carry on the way they were whilst our rivals were getting better.
yeah i take your point. I do remember that we took the piss out of the scum for some of the commercial things they did. We are paying the price now i suggest.

In terms of chairman i suppose Gibson is the model to follow (apart from hiring crap managers)

And subsequently refusing to admit his mistakes by not sacking them within 5 years.

Is he that good though? OK, they are a fairly stable club, but so were Charlton before they got relegated.

If the definition of a good chairman is not to overstretch, and aspire to mediocrity, sorry, I mean mid-table security, then I guess he is.

If the definition is to maximise revenue to bring in the best talent (managerial, and playing staff), thus giving yourself a chance to win something occasionally (a cup?, qualify for Europe regularly?), then I think not.
                    Oh I don't know.

I think you have to remember that boro are by no means a Liverpool. Under him they have had some of the best times that club has had. They are stable they are not bust. When they got relegated they came back.

and look at the stadium they built some of the players they had playing for them under robson. I dont think he aspires to mediocraty but he doesnt have the potential market that we have.

Nope, but your second post makes you sound like an egotist.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yeah, your point 4 about Moores.

Manure were fortunate enough to be able to seize the mantle, when we had a number of years of poor management. From around 87 our team were getting long in the tooth, so when Kenny moved on in 91, the average age was around 30 I think. Souness had to almost rebuild a team, and his purchases were pretty woeful (Julian Dicks stands out in my eyes, along with Paul Stewart).

Add to that a good youth policy that provided a flurry of free talent (Giggs/Scholes/Beckham/Nevilles ) and you can see why they were able to spend less to get better quality individual players.

Follow Souness with Evans, and the problem doesn't go away. Nice bloke, but couldn't control the players, some of whom thought they were better than they actually were. I always remember hearing about Stan Collymore being dropped to the reserves and refusing to play. Says it all really

None of this is the fault of Moores, and he did look to replace (or as far as Roy was concerned, find an "assistant").

Well from the BBC gossip column:

Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has stepped up his bid to sell his 50% stake in the club, instructing financial giants Merrill Lynch to find a buyer. (Daily Mirror)

Compared to somewhere like London, Liverpool's pretty tiny. London's insanely big and messy. You can get from one end of Liverpool to the other in less than half an hour, try that in London!
