I think bigger text and some pictures would be better on the title screen. It's not a very welcoming page. I know that sounds ridiculous and petty, but I think more people would get through it all if little things like that were added.

But good to see the effort put in by one and all.

not a very welcoming front page for the 5 second attention span of some people, as stated earlier some graphics would be nice BUT care would have to be taken as it would be easy to fall into including something that could be reported as propaganda and the text that's there I'm pretty sure can not be twisted or reported as sentimental, all in all very good

I agree with above, perhaps something as simple as a couple of headlines with larger/bold text will help people navigate more easily, ifa graphics/pictures are the way you wan't to go.

I agree with some of the other comments - I think it's a bit wordy but applaud and cannot fault the effort.

I think the info in the opening paragraph and the paragraph directly below the links could be merged to make one smaller, introductory paragraph...something like:

A version of this site was launched in 2008 under the name 'Hillsborough for Dummies' - we've updated the name and content. The information on this page is designed as a one-stop reference guide to the Hillsborough disaster using verified facts.

There is a lot of excellent work on this topic already in existence; we hope that the documents below compliment this information and we encourage people to learn as much as possible through other sources.

You can then lose the paragraph about why the name was changed and give more precedence to the links -space them out a bit.

A couple of other things - a lot of sites use the facebook logo when linking to it - I'd also put the contributors names in smaller type right at the bottom and lose the hit counter.

Break the content up into clearly defined sections with headings. Make the links stand out from the rest of the text with larger text and a differnt font.

Hmm when I said precedence I think I meant prominence. In my defence, it was early.
