Oh I agree, it is quite petty of me. But I still think you can be the bigger man and admit you were wrong............

I did with Looprevil. He wrote of Dossena after about two games, which I said was daft but he stuck by his guns. When Insua and Aurelio upped their games I came to the conclusion that Dossena would not make the break through at LB and as such admitted he was right.
    Forwards.......

Porto will at least score. I fancy them to get a draw to be honest. Fergie's calling for a high tempo but I can't see them keeping it up

I'll move this to the Footie forum in a sec

Each to their own obviously mate, but i think it's insane how people are giving Porto a genuine chance of a result tonight. I cant see them scoring, and cant even see them keeping it to 1-0.

Could see at least 2-0 to the scum tonight, if not more.

Hope to be proved wrong, but IMO porto are ****e.

They won't score - Porto are piss poor. The weakest team in the competition at this stage of the season. The only thing we can hope for is a Rooney booking which would mean he would be suspended for the next round.

He'd be suspended for the 2nd leg, wouldnt he? As opposed to the next round.

People are giving Porto a sleight chance because the Mancs have had one day in between their last match. Which in the days of high tempo football is ridiculous. The mancs game is based entirely on a fast tempo, and as such is why they struggled against Fulham.

Had this game been in Portugal tonight I would have considered a decent size bet because of this. As it happens it's at Old Trafford and Porto will more than likely just sit back and give the mancs all the time in the world to settle. A reasonably fresh Rooney and Vidic, plus a fully refreshed Paul Scholes should be enough to give them an injection of energy in each thrird of the pitch. I should think that will be enough.

If, on the other hand, Porto attack the Mancs and go about setting a high tempo themselves then we will see a completely different game. One in which the Mancs would struggle in.

One day's rest is fair enough, but half the team that'll be on the field tonight wont have played at the weekend anyway.

Mancs will win comfortably, i'm sorry to say.
