I think we will draw against le Arse mainly because they are extremely threatening going forward and Benitez will look to contain rather than trying to beat.

we played generally well. Mascher was boss, Yossi was boss. Insua was solid.

we where abit sloppy at times, but we won, and the three points are the main thing

i dont know if anyone is interested in this.. but i took it outside the ground.

Do you actually ever watch us, seriously? Since when do we just look "to contain" at home? Some of our best home performances under Rafa have come at home to Arsenal, last season apart we've ripped them apart every time theyve come here in the league.

As if the "Spanish waiter" is gonna play for a draw at home ffs.

may as well go for broke it makes no odds, a draw or defeat means the same now really. One point is pretty useless. We should just let the reds loose on them, batter them and rile them up to take points off man yoo

Got a text from my mate at the game; "Yossi REALLY wants to start on Tuesday night".

He looked ****ing hungry, chasing everything, tracking back, flying into tackles. Impressive.

You never seem to predict a win for us anyway.

As for 'containing', Rafa knows just as well as we do that we basically have to win every game.

Ridiculous really. Even after their 0-0 plan failed inside 6 minutes, Blackburn STILL never had any intention of scoring a goal. Useless shower of ****e. Nobody's come to Anfield in the league and won - and yet people thought blackburn would?

arsenal have improved but personally I am still unconvinced. They arent impenetrable, arent free scoring, they were lucky not to go to 10 men yesterday and havent had any crunchers lately hence their slightly flattering run. They're a very good side for sure but not the Arsenal who you would be thankful when they didnt tank us home and away a few years ago. They have lot of big big games coming too, something will give.

People are dismissing Arsenal far too easily. Adebayor and Fabregas are back and they're on a great run, in fine form.

It will be a very hard game.

Agreed Arsenal is a big game and will be a tough challenge.

I do also see redpablo's point but they did well IMO considering their injuries against Wigan. They have been growing but the fact they play all three teams above them in the run in does indicate they have had a relatively easy run. that said they did okay against the top 3 earlier in the season the problem was poor defensive basics against other teams. I think in that regard they have made big strides and players like Song and Denilson made big strides individually.

My original point was really specifically about the fact that they have recently stopped conceding from set pieces despite sharing some of the problems I would identify in our team.

dont get me wrong now, it wont be a blackburn or Villa, it will be tight but they are far from the team of years past and at home I am confident we can get 3 points. lets stay positive! 19 is coming, back on our perch.
