    Was this the first time Rafa has been out-thought tactically in Europe?

    I don't think the tactics were our downfall. Both sides played a similar game, it's just that the chavs played it better and got the result.

    I don't think Rafa would make many tactical changes if he was to get another go at beating them.... oh, wait a minute!

      On a side note, Am I right in thinking that if we are 2-0 up on 90 mins it would go to extra time and only then if we failed to score a 3rd then we would be out?

              No - Benfica done us good and proper in the 2005/2006 season. You could argue AC Milan did us in the final we lost. Besiktas done us over too last year.

                  they were too gung - ho after going 1 up on wednesday.

                  They were probably a bit overconfident if anything, the should have killed the same after going a goal up

                    our support was **** that night as well.

                    I think we were all far too complacant going into that match... me and my mates were saying that in the ale house before kick-off. There was no anxiety in the air... all a bit festival of football for me.

                    There is never that feeling when Utd are in town...
