this is my point. if ex players won't give a bit of balance to their so called expert punditry then whats their agenda? why would you not treat liverpool fairly and give the club (manager and players) a fair crack of the whip?

who wouldnt give us a fair crack? this is why poeple call him a **** and a manc. its because they're the types who wont give us a fair shot and give us credit where its due.

if he knows how top teams are made top (note he's observed it, not put it in place himself) then surely he has the IQ to see that Rafa is doing a great job and he's repairing the demise caused by others on what is relatively (to man u and chelsea) a very tight budget.

His lack of fairness to rafa shows he's a bitter individual and throwing mud at the club. why on earth is he doing that? does that bitterness not devalue his stature?

maybe like most football followers in England, he just doesn't think Benitez will win us a league? he really might not have an agenda, but genuinely doesn't think Benitez will deliver what he has been employed to do

I don't care what he thinks.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

perhaps. bit of respect wouldnt be a bad thing tho. whatever he thinks, rafa has taken the club forward and achieved a lot in the 5 years he's been here. if he can't recognise and find some positives in that then thats up to him isnt it. i'd expect him to tho.

But this is not the case, and as Whelans random views are broadcast in Ireland I would suggest that it's unlikely many LFC players will ever here or read of them.

He is different to Kenny Dalglish in that everybody listens to what Kenny says. Everyone at the club will know what he's saying, and Kenny will regularly come across present day players of Liverpool. I would therefore say that Dalglish needs in some respects to "toe the party line". Whelan on the other hand can get away with it.

Anyhow, as you say - he worked his bollocks of for this club and the clubs success he brought is the reason many on here will support the club. So as long as his opinion is purely football related then I wouldn't see a reason as to why he would never get anthing less than a fantastic reception when he goes back to Anfield.

He's not 100% like John Aldridge, but it don't make him a Manc.
Actually he's a self-confessed scum fan. I've seen him myself mentioning it on TV

This bloke just loves laying into Liverpool managers.

"it's not like it was in my day, blah, blah". Shut the **** up. You're a failed manager and **** pundit. I'm ashamed to say that he was once captain of our great club. Prick!
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Whelans a prick no doubt about it.

I fail to see the problem with anything he's said in that though.

It's not just that. He was slating Benitez for years before he left. Benitez got closer to winning the league than any other manager over the last 20 years.

He should just keep his mouth shut. He hasn't a ****ing clue.
