Sorry if someone's already done this but here's my take anyway:

Cast your mind back to 1985 - fans died, we should have thrashed a weaker Juventus to our 5th European Cup, then Heysel happened. Juventus went on to win while our attentions were elsewhere. 20 years later, we remember the dead, we thrash Juventus and we win our memorable 5th European Cup.

Rewind again to 1989 - fans died, we should have thrashed a weaker Arsenal to the league title, they pipped us while we weren't looking. 20 years later, we remember the dead and we're about to play Arsenal........

Is it written? If we thrash Arsenal I don't care what scum do against Portsmouth I'll believe its written!!!!

It's in the numbers:
We'll win no 19 after a 19 years wait.
We last won the league in '90, we'll win again in '09
And besides... a few days ago I was playing footy, and there was a young guy there, who's name was Ian Rush. Coincidence?? I think NOT !!

I remember hearing the commentator say (during our home league game against Chelsea) that the last time we did the double over Chelsea, we won the league.

Surely that has to count as one?!!!!!!
