I get your point about Spearing and I think he could have a future here but tonight we needed a little experience and Lucas has that over Spearing at the mo.

I thought Lucas did ok tonight and deserved to be played for the full 90. He wont play against Arsenal so why not give take the gamble. It nearly worked didnt it?

And as for the Mascherano substitution well it just goes to show that Rafa can do no right in some peoples eyes.

The way I saw it was that we needed to score and play a attacking pressing game and Masch is the worlds best defensive midfielder.

I would imagine you would have said something like "ffs rafa, why leave our defensive midfielder on when we were chasing the game?"

        You just cant win.
Exactly what I said at the time.

              We'll agree to disagree .

I just thought Rafa made a couple of wrong decisions tonight.

Ah well, we'll just have to win the league instead now.

Plus we were pushing on for more goals by that time and the full backs were knackered from the previous hour of bombing forwards.

And Reina had the ball covered were it not for the slightest of touches that allowed the ball to sneak in - 2 inches one way it's it his gloves, 2 inches the other way it hits the post!
Someone should have been tracking Lampard, but as you said we were chasing the game. On two occasions, one being a Lampard goal, Aurelio has the benefit of being able to look across his line and see Carra on Drogba and Skrtel on Anelka. He can also see Lampard to his left (as both are facing the goal) and at this point both he and Lampard are sixteen yards from the goal line (next to each other) and both are jogging.

Now at this point, Aurelio should be busting a gut to get in front of Lampard and goal side. He does neither. He lets Lampard stay goal side, and also allows him to speed up and move away, so by the time Lampard taps it in from all of five yards away, Aurelio is a further five yards back of him, when they started level!

Lazyness. Aurelio was still running about after that so why could he not have ran then? Had all our team showed the same desire in tracking back as they did going forward we would have gone through for me.

I'm not saying they should have been sprinting up and down the pitch, but when they are already next to a player they should put him under pressure.
                Forwards.......

Well done to all our lads, made me proud to be a fan tonight, really thought we would nick it just before Lampards goal at the end. Rafa showed what a master he is, stopping their midfield from bossing us like they did in the first leg. What a ****ing rollercoaster-ride of a match

                  Shoot the ref (not literally)
Shoot that horrible cheating cunt Drogba (literally)
How can they shake his hand and smile and have a chat with him after the final whistle? I would tell him what a ****er he is. He really is up there with the worst.

Bring on Arsenal, LFC for the league!

I though Lucas looked pretty good tonight and got beyond Torres a few times.

Bar the goal, Fabio was poor again defending and tracking back

Fair play to the players for not reacting to the constant playacting by Drogba - It made me laugh when he was clutching his leg off the pitch, rolled back onto the pitch and people were screaming for the ball to be played out. I'd have ****in launched it at the ****.

Cashly Cole - Every time he didn't get it his way I though he was going to cry - What a nobhead.

Big ol Petr doesn't like the route one stuff does he - They looked very shakey
I make no apologies, this is me

what a team, forget the 4 goals conceded,we at to go for it and would always leave ourselves open at the back especially at 3-4 in a game we thought we had no chance of winning, proud as **** and all the headlines are saying heroic liverpool, hard luck lads now i am more confident than ever we will win the league.go on.

Thought with reina being wrong footed the momentum went away from us. But there was nothing he could do about the free kick, which gave them the real advantage.

But credit must go to the team, they gave all they had and that's all we can ask as fans. In the end we had to chase and so spaces were there for them.

Disappointed? Of course but all the players tried their best tonight.
                        Quit your jibber jabber!!!

Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Without a doubt Barca for the CL. I can see Manure getting knocked out tomorrow night... and that will please me no end... As for Arsenal. A win for them tomorrow and its game on for us next week... they'll also give Chavski a game at the weekend!

They played there hearts out... I thought the subs who came on got stuck in straight away... Proud to be a Liverpool Supporter and proud of the away supporters singing their hearts out... not many do that in the face of defeat (Old Toilet 14th March 09).

Good substitutions from Rafa bringing off Torres and Masch... we'll be ready for Arsenal... And I saw Keown on MOTD2 a few weeks back and he said the Gunners won't like playing at out place on a Tuesday Eve... He said he has us down to win the league this year... And I reckon he's right.

I am sure we can wait till next year for a trip to Madrid in 2010.

great effort and now on to the league. In the last 7 games we have played united, madrid, chelsea twice, and villa yet have scored 4 or more on no fewer than 5 occasions. Incredible, we are on fire.

If the Mancs go through tomorrow - of all days - it will be a right ****ing sickener...although of course in the scheme of things completely unimportant.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

But it also means they have a heavy plate to deal with.

Sod it if they win I won't care as long as we land no.19.
