Hiddink's better than that, he should get out and gain some respect.
I think tonight they crossed the line. In fact I think they broke the long jump world record in getting over the line.

It was sad to watch and reminded me of why I stopped watching Italia football on channel 4 in the 90's. It was an English teams playing a very Italian style game. Even the Italians are embarrased about that style of football these days.

Not since the Inter Milan team of the 60's have I seen a team prosper by cheating in such a way. And thankfully I've only seen highlights of those. Mind, Mourinhos Porto gave them a run for their money against Celtic.

This is football for ****s sake,ok there were mistakes but every liverpool player gave there all, they ran all night and there heads never went down in a game where punters gave us no chance, i cant believe the condemnation on here from some quarters, ok we are out of the champions league but not through lack of trying and the passion and fire in the belly tonight is to be admired and i for one will dismiss any tactical mistakes that were made by human beings that gave there all, an heroic display all round.

No lack of effort going forward, but some lack of effort in getting back by certain players. When I bother playing football I'm a central defender and it annoys the hell out of me when I see a player able to sprint up the touchline attacking, but when it comes to defending doesn't put the effort in.

It's all about determination, but it's a common thing in football at all levels where there is more desire shown in getting forward to assist in attack than giving a hand in defence.

For what its worth in no way do i blame epe for the 1st goal, being brutally honest it was an excellent reach from that cunt drogba and was just unfortunate. Pepe has kept us in plenty of games and I for one just dont see that as an error.

Pepe kept his eye on the ball all the way, till the slightest of touches from drogba, he had shifted his weight from one foot to another, by which time it was too late, a miscalculated error IMO.

but come on i played football and i know that concentration levels can drop in any situation and in a undoubted emotional game like this where for once Rafa threw caution to the wind mistakes will be made nobody does it on purpose and all you can ask is commitment and determination, if they were lazy mistakes then i might tend to agree, but no one was lazy tonight.

It was an error, he needed to be closer to the post but I won't hold that against him. More to Aurelio who let Anelka fly very easily.

Agree about the Drogba sentiment. He really is a horrible cunt of a man, and I use the term man in its loosest form. A cheating despicable low life scum of a player who just took the piss and the referee fell for it every time.

                    Onwards and upwards.. YNWA.

BTW our fans were magnificent tonight.

Absolutely. Onto the league challenge and i really fancy us to do Arsenal next week...they've got Villareal and a FA Cup semi-final before then and are bound to pick up a few more injuries etc, not to mention a bit of fatigue.

what i admire about you is that you are totally unfazed by any criticism.

I'm sorry but there were incidents that shown lazyness to me. Maybe I'm wrong and it was just a monumentel error of judgement from players at certain times.

But I can not for the life of me see why Aurelio did not track one of the best players in the world at arriving late in the box.

To be fair, if Lucas had done a similar error he would have been crucified. Reina made a big error but that's life.

We move on. That goal did not decide the tie anyhow. It left us in the same position of needing one more goal.
