    DALGLISH BEING LINED UP FOR BOBBY'S JOB

    KENNY DALGLISH is being lined up to take over from Sir Bobby Robson as the Republic of Ireland's new international advisor.

    Manager Steve Staunton is under intense pressure following Ireland's 5-2 defeat in Cyprus. But the FAI will not sack him because he signed a fouryear contract in February.

    Instead, they want a new advisor as Robson has been ill since August.

    Not the King, but Staunton.
    Any manager that needs an advisor, needs to be shown the door, especially at international level.

      The FAI is nothing but a joke.

      Not to be disrespectful to my hero King Kenny, but what has he done in the managerial sphere the last 10 years? Football has moved on...

        He did a Wonderful Job of Keeping Newcastle and Celtic down, like any True Red Would

          Didn't Kenny himself have an advisor when he started? Should he have been let go too? Was it a joke when he was appointed?

            I posted this on 6CM a few days ago. IMO, a great appointment and if it's true i think i can safely say that he will be in the hotseat sooner, rather than later.

              He watches many, many games - his knowledge of football is second to none. Football ain't half as complicated as people make out.

                  I think we got rid of Kerr to quick. Knew a lot of the younger players and would have boded well for us.

                              NO it wasnt, then again, Kenny had just been involved with a team that was at the top of the food chain, and was the clubs best ever player.
                              Id imagine its been some time since Stan has been involved with a successfull team. Times have changed even since then.
                              Personally, I would want someone who had atleast some managerial experience.
                              I didnt like anything about his appointment when I heard he was then new manager. He simply fails to inspire anyone, seems to have no football philosphy.
                              I would just rather we had someone who didnt have to go running to someone else for advice on how to run the team.
