    Carra/Agger/Skrtel

This thread is not an anti carra one but for Liverpool's sake, Rafa should solve Agger's contract problem immediately. Agger should play more, he deserves it after all.

In 2 years' time I can see:
Agger and Skrtel being the best/or two of the best defenders in Europe while Carra will slowly begin the down road (which imo he had begun this year)...

Mind you Carra should still be in the first 11 this year given the experience he has but Agger should be taken care of!

Yes. Agger is a classy defender. It would be a horrible waste to let him leave.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

yes but I do think that there is something else behind the whole Agger situation. Rafa sees the quality player that he is but yet doesnt jump in to give him a contract extension as per Kuyt and Gerrard. More to this than meets the eye

I think out of the three, Agger's potential is best. I was so surprised to see Sktrel start last night. I believe that Agger has been offered a contract extension but he isn't signing it yet as he wants more assurances he will play more often, as he should. I don't think he wants to leave, by any stretch.
Side note; there are rumours that Agger's second long term injury wasn't an injury at all, and that could also be a reason behind him not signing on yet.

That rumour's done the rounds but I don't think he'd be here now if it were true.

Skrtel's been a bit off form recently, Agger should've played at Chelsea.

There is a valid argument for dropping Skrtel for Agger on form at the minute. Dropping Carra would be mental at the minute and considering we are challenging for the league I would like all Rafa's decisions to be focussed on maximising the chances of doing that not on what would best suit individual players. I think that this season Agger has looked vulnerable defensively but unlike at the start of the season the same accusations can now be leveled at Skrtel.

I'm really not sure whether persevering and trying to form a stable Carra-Skrtel partnership or swapping to give Agger a chance to prove himself is the best option. I guess a lot will come down to what Carra is most happy with and the sort of form and rapport the players show in training.

Agger looked ****ed after the Blackburn game, so maybe the Chelsea game came just a bit too soon for him?

Save him for the Arse game, he can look after Adebayor, and Carra can nobble RvP.
