Watching the Hillsborough service on TV today, I noticed Montse Benitez singing her little heart out to Fields of Anfield Road and it struck me just how much this lady appreciates and contributes to the Liverpool Way.
I have almost no doubt in my mind that the stories that she told Rafa he'd be going to Madrid on his own if he went were true. I also know she was the one who did all the reading of our history and culture while Rafa was getting himself involved with the playing side etc during the early days.
I also remember listening to that interview from Radio City, and being struck by just how much she has adopted both the club and the city.
I firmly believe that Rafa is one of the top, if not the top, managers in Europe, but how much do we owe to Montse?
