The reason?

Well after the 'Boro game, and what looked like the end of the title race I asked for one thing. Keep going and make Man Utd win the league. Because if we did that I could accept it, and if we did that we could well force them to play their full strength side in the premier league.

Now I did not anticapate such a dramatic turn around, but even if we blow the league the lads have done whta i wanted back then, which is made the Mancs tired and made them blow the "quintuple".

Had Liverpool not kept winning games they would be walking the title and could have rested players in the league. Instead they have had to do it in Europe and in the FA cup. Didn't quite pay off in Europe (yet), but it has in the FA cup.

Fantastic. The league is still a tough ask, but at least we've prevented the perfect season for them. With a big thank you to Everton of course.

very true, not looked at it that way before......but its true our recent surge has the mancs worried and there is no way they would have rested players today if they were pissing the league......makes there loss even sweeter

United could do a lot worse when replacing fergie not too sure one dimensional is fair, he doesn't seem mix it up in terms of formation and style of play but why change what works i suppose.

I would obviously love us to win the league, but it's still in United's hands. When we went through our poor spell I still felt we'd made significant progress this year, but I really couldn't have imagined we'd turn things round so spectacularly. Rafa deserves loads of credit for keeping the pressure on United and orchestrating some breathtakingly entertaining football.

He'd say the same big Sam said at Bolton "I play this way because it's all I've got. Give me top players and I'll show you a different me" .

Fair enough, but it's a risk. Man Utd will not go anywhere near him unless he does something in Europe.

Absolutely

We've made a really genuine challenge this year, and as opposed to other seasons were its been the Mancs coming up fast on other teams and causing them at times to "choke", this year we've really made them sweat for once, and may still do even more than that.

The team should be very proud of the way they've come through what was really a very difficult season both off the pitch and on it, and we the fans should be very proud of them imo.

And i know, that after the game he would say something like, "i'm a Portsmouth player now, so my goals and hard work are for them, BUT, Liverpool fans have always been great with me, and i loved my time there, so i don't mind helping them or dedicating todays 4 goals to their Title Bid, I hope they go on and win it now".
