Gutted for the reserves, a cert to finish bottom now. Where did it all go wrong? Too many players in the squad this year for me. I have no doubt the team will do better next year.
In terms of player development at least we have a few who have a decent future. My biggest dissapointment this year has been the lack of progress made by Nemeth, probably due to injuries. I had hoped he would get a game or two before the end of the season, but with our lofty ambitions and his poor form he doesn't look like getting close.
Darby didn't help his chances tonight either, but that's likely his first mistake all year and he is a bit rusty after his own recent injury problems. But Jay Spearing. What a player, really going all out to impress everyone, especially since his turn out against Madrid.
Could have gone one of two ways after that, could have sulked at being left in the reserves again or knuckled down even further in an effort to impress Rafa. No doubt he has took the later option and I hope the lad makes the bench and comes on before the seasons out - he deserves it.
