Riera has his faults but is 100 times more effective than Babel.

I'd bloody give him away TBH - and Lucas.

    NOT LFC MOULD.

In a **** league he would be great...ie the Eredivisie in Holland

      He's a waster

shut the **** up pal. babel played well when he came on yesterday. riera was the one who looked ****ed. never once tried to run at the opposition and basically had one of his worst games for us. babel came on and was a breath of fresh air. ran at the defense and looked lively. if only he was givena proper run in the team as has happened with benni recently you would see a masssive improvance i am sure.

Babel should never wear the Liverpool shirt again, he's a ****ing disgrace. What sort of message would it send to other players if that lack of commitment earned him another game? He ****ing bottled everything, he trots back when we're defending without a care in the world, and he's ****ing ****. Really ****ing **** - I've grown to hate him with a passion. Not good enough, doesn't give a ****e about Liverpool Football Club or the supporters, **** off back to Holland you ****ing waste of space.
obviously you are the one who never watched the game if thats what you thought.

i dont understand how you can beleive he was poor last night. he came on to a good game last night. even the lads at work who are chelsea fans agreed that he looked dangerous last night and they agree with the majority on here who beleive he isn't good enough most of the time.

He had a good first season but has since regressed in his development. maybe his attitude has something to do with this, but I also feel that having a stop start sub career hasn't exactly helped. If he had been given the kind of unrelenting support that Crouch, Lucas and Kuyt have been given, maybe he'd have developed as opposed to going backwards. Maybe.

Any other thoughts as to why he has regressed?

ii think we paid 11 mill for raw talent that has developed
that was too much - and in hindsight we shouldnt/couldnt afford it and we could of spent it better
i actually think babel is like many wide players - if he gets hammered early he wont want to play
but he has been limited in his chances

Still doesn't explain why he has gone backwards and significantly so. Is it the manager, the coaches, the player?

is a mixture of all three. as big a fan of babels as i am, he obviously needs to do more on the pitch to prove to rafa he should be a regular starter. but is also rafa's fault for not giving him the opportunities to do so. he has shattered the boys confidence IMO by playing lucas/ngog ahead of him.

he has done. rafa has played lucas out of position on the right side of midfield when he could have easily fitted babel into that position. when chasing the game he has subbed on lucas ahead of babel to play an advanced attacking role when again babel would have been more effective.
