Kuyt is absolutely essential for the way this team plays. He has been absolutely immense for us this season and fully deserves his place in the team. No brainer for me, sure get some decent competion in, but our focus must be the left side which remains unsettled IMO.

Sorry - I think Kuyt deserves his place 100%.

Workhorse or whatever, he is essential.

11 goals in all comps this season, he's done alright for me.

He's not 'world class', but then you'll never have 11 world class players.

He's not dynamic, but he brings other things.

I do wish he was quicker and stronger, with a better touch though.

apart from ronaldo, i cant think of anyone in the premier league who will have scored as many or have that many asssists playing as a right winger......he also has terrific game intelligence.

I think we need a back up or someone else for the stoke's of this world but Kuyt deserves his first 11 spot but i would like to see a tricky winger brought in as back up.

My opinion on Kuyt see-saws game by game.

He completely outworked and outshone Riera last night though.

He was a lot more effective in the second half, out wide. His touch and passing is noticeably more of a liability when playing centrally.

I like him and I think he's good enough for us. If we can buy someone better then great but otherwise he's an important member of the team.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

All this agreement between us on a number of threads is getting a little disconcerting.

He was stunning last night! Brilliant crossing and won us the ball back more times than any other player by forcing them to clear what should have been balls they could have played. He worked like everyone knows he does but was exceptional yesterday and drives a huge amount of our fight with his passion. I would never sell Dirk and although he used to lumber he now seems to be improving in leeps and bounds.

His 2 crosses got us into the game last night.
His first touch and passing seems to be a lot better now than earlier in the season. His workrate is second to none.

Agreed he was very good last night - but IMO we still need a better player for that position.

I like kuyt, but he doesn't do it for me in that position. And I hate saying that still knowing he has been one of our better players this season...
