I think he was fantastic last night. I've never seen a player do as much for the team the way Dirk does. Fantastic player, absolute starter in every match for me. I think he's world class in what he does.

I don't know who we realisticly could replace/suplement him with. I can think of a number of players I would rather have playing the right wing, but players that are not within our grasp.

His goalscoring record is good for his position, but I have to say 5 assists is not much for one of the most creative positions in a team. Many times when he is among our best players in a match it is often for non-classic winger qualities.

But he is not a right winger, he plays as a right sided forward who does more than his fair share of defensive work. His stats compare very favourably to that great white hope of the english game, Wayne Rooney, 9 goals 5 assists.

He is not a tricky winger and never will be; however, some do appear to equate the ability to do a few tricks with being a good player and never look at what the player does without the ball.

Although he rarely says it anymore, Rafa does love possibilties and options and at this time we do need a different option on the right. It's not Dirk we need replacing it's the players behind him, such as El Zhar.

He was stunning last night! Brilliant crossing and won us the ball back more times than any other player by forcing them to clear what should have been balls they could have played. He worked like everyone knows he does but was exceptional yesterday and drives a huge amount of our fight with his passion. I would never sell Dirk and although he used to lumber he now seems to be improving in leeps and bounds.

And I think Dirk's technical ability far more than what the general perception is. He's got a good first touch and general awareness; all he lacks is maybe a bit of pace, that's why we won't see him getting past people.

And I'm getting sick and tired of people slagging off our players or putting a dampener on things. The team has been magnificent lately, we're playing like Champions so our players should be spared some stick.

Let's keep slagging off Elvoz though.

But you can easily replace right winger with right forward and get the same result from my earlier post...

I don't care if a player is tricky in that position, but he needs to be able to create things.

And for Rooney, I don't really rate him and he plays in a central forward position...

I saw Wenger saying last night that maybe because the match was played as such a frenetic pace that errors happened. It wasn't us alone who were making errors in defensive situations but Arsenal also. The attacking on display was absolutely incredible; the technical level of the game on an attacking front was very high, therefore explaining the errors by defenders, as they had to make quick decisions and weren't spared much time on the ball. And each of Arshavin's goal was top quality. He basically scored with each attempt.

Their fourth was a joke. Allowing the whole side bar Reina and one other to push up for a corner at 3-4, when they've just brought on Theo Walcott was asking for trouble.

Reina should've saved their third goal, it went straight through him.

I dont buy that....it was smashed at him from real close in. Hardly had time to react. It may have looked like he should have saved it as it was very close to his body but he simply didnt have time to adjust his position.

IMO Reina cant really be faulted for any of the goals last night. Your real culprits are Mash for the first, Carra and Arbeloa for the second, Aurelio for the third and the whole team for the fourth.

Not sure mate, there were a good few seconds where Arshavin was lining up the shot and it was clear that it was coming. Reina got down to it, but didnt get enough behind it. I'm sure he'd look at it himself and think he should've done better. He wasnt culpable overall for the result, but for that one goal, he should've got more behind it iMO.
