I have to admit I was surprised with the Red but you have to have no doubt that Barton went for the man. I think that fact that Alonso is leaving on a stretcher is testament to it.Originally posted by Robster007 View PostWhat a ridiculous sending off. Yellow, yes, but you could tell he didn't mean the dirty foul there.
Barton had no reason to make such a challenge in that area of the pitch which I think could explain the red.Winning an argument on the internet is like winning the special olympics, even if you win you are still a retard!

if he'd body checked him, he may, just may have got away with it. But the two footed challenge was the signal for a redOriginally posted by Gazmo1 View PostI have to admit I was surprised with the Red but you have to have no doubt that Barton went for the man. Well done Alan Shearer having a laugh with the Kop!!"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.
Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."
