I didnt say i 'want it both ways'. I've said i agree with how Rafa's done it.

I've also said that in an IDEAL WORLD you'd get a balance, but it's not an ideal world.

What exactly is wrong with saying that? Maybe you just have a pathetic personal problem with me and that has a heavy influence on what you post in reply to me, because there's **** all wrong with saying that finding a balance would be ideal, but ideal probably isnt realistic.

I'm sure some Spurs fans feel that way. Others think differently.

Same here, with the Spurs fans i know.

He hasnt been as good as he was, but the fact is, before we signed him he was a proven consistent PL goalscorer and he never did the business with us, for a number of reasons.

It's just my viewpoint on the topic fella.

That's fair enough. I couldnt personally say with any conviction that Babel was only good for us when we played counter attack, but each to their own.

I never said there werent constraints, nor that rafa should play Babel. I've said on this very thread that i'd probably deal with Babel the same as Rafa has.

I was just pointing out the other way of dealing with him, and the potential impact of doing this.

I think part of it is laziness and also a part of it is a lack of footballing intelligence, which is another thing i think Babel has, and which i also feel works against him with Rafa. Which again, isnt me saying Rafa's wrong for it.
I guess we'll have to agree to agree then

It does seem wrong to come on a forum and start agreeing with people.

Has irony ever been more ironic?

            Whatever, let's leave it.
            .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I think Rafa being the manager he is has not only improved Gerrards game but improved him as a person. If the next manager after Houllier continued to pander to him I think Stevie would still have an inflated opinion of himself.

I would actually use Gerrard as possibly Rafa's best example of fantastic man management.

I totally agree. I also think it was helped by Gerrard growing up a bit too.

Maybe a previous style of managment held back gerrards growing up?
