    Pepe Reina

I cant seem to say this often enough, but i absolutely love him.

I was right at the front and virtually dead centre of goal today, so Pepe was about 10 feet away from us.

During the warmup, the players were obviously doing the usual thing of striking shots at goal. A few of these went over or wide, and a couple blasted straight at some unsuspecting supporters.

Pepe Reina would look towards the fans who'd been hit - and do a little thumbs up gesture, as if to say 'you ok?...yeah? ok?' and then a little nod and a grin when he'd had confirmation that they were alright

And while Gerrard was stepping up to take his penalty, Pepe turned around to face us fans and crouched right down so the fans right at the front could see...but with a nervous grimace on his face

Then after a split second of doubt, he stands up with a big grin and clap.

Not to mention laughing in Di Michele's face when he was on the floor demanding a penalty.

His interaction with the fans is superb and the bloke's a legend.

    Love him to bits

Was about to mention this in the post match thread having just seen it again on MOTD, but I'd love to know what he was saying to Di Michele

But yeah absolutely agree with you. The best keeper we've for donkeys years and I hope we keep hold of him for ages.

I remember away at Preston, during the warm up, for some reason we've only got one ball and it is being fired at Pepe. Mascherano lifts it over the bar into our lot and some scal nicks it.

Cue Pepe shaking his head and chuckling at us.

Yeah he is the best keeper in the Prem and is a top top bloke. I said in the european thread that he is a fantastic keep and is so unlucky to be spanish as casillas is amazing but i am sure he will be his chance.

That's exactly the kinda thing i'm on about. He's got a quality sense of humour and as everyone saw at the the post Euro 2008 Spanish stage show, he's quite the showman.

Every time we score i always see him turn to the crowd and celebrate with the fans. The guy knows just how much it means to us and tries to get us involved in it. He is by far the best keeper we have had in a long long long time and a fantastic bloke. He is a liverpool type player through and through

He is a model professional and a inspiration to other young players IMO. Now contrast his attitude to that mob who play at the bridge.

At the Spurs home game last year, George played one of my tracks as they were warming up and Pepe was dancing along to it!!

                    And it was my birthday.

                            Reina

Amazing to think he's probably a good 5 years off his "prime" too.

                            Absolutely agree with that
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
                            Mine angry and defrauded young?

In a sense we take him for granted because he doesn't get mentioned as much as the other key players. Reina is absolutely brilliant and i dearly hope he sticks around for a few years.

For about 15 years before he arrived we struggled to find a solid, trustworthy keeper but eventually in Reina we finally found someone reliable. We must keep him here for atlast 5-6 years yet
