Odds are probably so massively in their favour as it is a home tie for the Arse.Hmm so they are that good by the sound of it! ThanksOriginally posted by BrianF80 View PostThey won their league by 25 points!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well we'll see how they get on after Kennedy has kicked a few lumps out of them
Still gonna have a couple of quid on the draw

He did come across really defeatist didn't he. We have injury doubts too. Pepper is definitely out but even worse IMO Ayala is a doubt and Ecclestone as well.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostTake a look at Hugh McCauleys comments and make your own mind up. He talks of the importance of not sitting back too much and that it is important to keep the scores close so we get a good crowd at Anfield.
When a manager talks like that you know damn well that he is talking up a possible hiding. We did however beat them last year and do tend to save our best performances for the youth cup.
Whilst Arsenal are rightly the favourites value for money gambling wise has to be on the draw.
Edit: Just remembered it was Buchtman not Ecclestone who was the other doubt.Last edited by BrianF80; 22-05-09, 02:06 PM.

It's difficult to tell really, Man City won our league and finished 28 points ahead of us. We tend to mess around with our U18s team in the league, giving opportunities to U16s etc and we don't play the lads based at Melwood e.g. Bouzanis, Kelly, Irwin.Originally posted by wiw View PostHmm so they are that good by the sound of it! Arsenal beat Man City 6-2 in their Semi BTW.

I don't have Setanta but certainly looking forward to this online (somewhere hopefully). How can we be afraid we have some Butchmen, Irwin ghosting past everyone, Pepper spraying the ball around the pitch and Dalla Valle with shots from Valhalla. By the end Arsenal will w ince at the defeat. One tit for another.

I went to the Arsenal-City game with mates who are supporters of both teams. The 4-1 scoreline in the second leg was somewhat flattering. City's defending in the first half was laughably, suicidally, comically bad, just gifting goals with a series of howlers.Originally posted by BrianF80 View PostIt's difficult to tell really, Man City won our league and finished 28 points ahead of us. They were ahead in the first minute, following a big boot down the pitch. Then came a penalty and it was game over. Their goalkeeper was just awful too, not a patch on our goalie, Bouzanis. As my City mate said, if they'd had Arsenal's goalie they probably would have won. Although it was 4-1 at half-time, which flattered Arsenal, City were the better team in the second half.
It's impossible to compare teams in different leagues at youth level as the players are very inconsistent. They might have beaten City, flattering though the score was, but we knocked out Chelsea, who had knocked out the Scum, so we've accounted for two of the other Big Four members' youth teams directly or indirectly.
Anything can happen tonight. William Hills' odds for the game were crazy. We were 100-1 to beat them 3-0. If they're that good I'd be worried, but I stuck a token fiver on it just in case. The Racing Post also concluded that Arsenal were very much under-priced because of the perpetual hype about their "kids" (Copyright Sky Sports 2008) - despite the fact that this is the first time they've as much as reached a Youth Cup final since 2001 - and Liverpool were correspondingly over-priced and they recommended a bet on us as the better value
