on the other hand we got robbed at home by a poor decision from the ref against Stoke and a moment of madness form Lucas against Wigan, not to mention 4 shots equalling 4 goals for Arsenal in game where they were totally out played

Of course we've had good luck too so its swings and roundabouts but I just feel they've had more than us this season.

With a bit more luck,Torres and Gerrard fit for most of the season we'll defo get No.19 next season.

I just hope Torres has the good sense to steer clear of the Confederations cup this summer and get a good summers rest.He needs it.
they make there own luck there......by peppering the attack. ie the Frank Lamapard school of football.....hit enough shots goal bound and something will go in eventually!

But next year will truly be our year. It's not optimism, it's a cold, objective view. We are the best team in England, and over the last few months we have also played the best football in the country. Had Gerrard and Torres not been out for large periods of the season, the title would have been ours.

Best team in england on current form maybe.

But there's a reason why we havent won a PL title and it's because we always struggle to maintain the form and/or results over the course of a season.

That's the key mate, keeping it going throughout for as long as possible - and crucially, still winning when the performance levels drop.

That's how you win the title.

In which case, perhaps we should be looking to sign Rooney, Nani and Vidic, as well as Tevez.

Next year will be harder - we have a massive rival in Utd who have looked pretty useful to say the least over the past month. I expect a bigger, harder battle next season. This was our big chance and we blew it big time. Never mind.

United have looked good but then they looked better last year and at some point age has to catch up with van der Sar, Giggs and Scholes who have been key figures to the this year. Added to the fact that unlike previous years where if they wanted a player they simply spunked the cash on them it appears that with Tevez they feel the need to haggle.

Also Chelsea have an aging squad and no certain plan for the future. It is unknown how much they will have to spend but they have a fair amount of work to do in freshening up the squad.

I see next season looking a lot more hopeful than I did this season before it started. We have gone from also rans to genuine contenders and some people still want to see only the downsides.

On the other hand, Arsène's young team will have developped its full potential …
