if fergie is going for 19,
then i'm pretty sure he is going to strenghen his squad with 1 or 2 big players
as he knows how close we came to taking the title.

no doubt the cunt will go after some of the players we will be after.

good thing in our favour is that the majority of any spanish based players would probably come to us than them.

I just so do hope that we don't have a revolving door in the summer. Ship out just four or five of the deadwood and bring in one or two match-winners. Oh heck it's gonna be tense next year.

I just hope we can do it - to do the double over both United and Chelsea this season (and to get two draws from the Arsenal matches) was a tough, tough job, which in most seasons would've won us the League. We've scored the most amount of goals, played the best football, had a good defensive record and only lost two League games this season. That is title-winning form most years.

I still feel that we deserved to win it more - regardless of what is said.

You know fair play to Fergie for what he has done at united he is the reason they are so rich and successful. But at the same time i feel our self inflicted downfall played a greater role in united's success.

The fact is that David Moores stood by and let united overtake Liverpool as the power house of english football and did **** all about it. When he took over we were still strong and united did not have a massive financial advantage at the time.

As united starting buying the best young players we were stuck with Souness who took it upon himself to ship out established players and replace them with **** like dean saunders and Nigal Clough.

Moores would never sack a manager and just stand by as we fell further back into midtable as united started to establish themselves. It is sickening to think a SO CALLED LIVERPOOL FAN stood by and let this happen and i will argue with anyone who says David Moores is a red through and through as the fact is he is responsible for one of the worst eras in the clubs history.

There was a reason why David Moores never got his hands on the littlewoods empire and that was because even his dad thought he has **** for brains.

Even after all his **** ups and standing by watching united overtake us he had the chance to change that in 2006 by selling us to one of the richest people in the world and chose to **** that up and sell to people poorer than him.

LOL 5 years he spent looking for a buyer and still ****ed it up. FFS even if he had sold us to that Thai bloke we would be owned by the arabs now. The whole point of this gob****e selling us was to compete more in the transfer market and to have a new stadium.

The way i see it nothing has changed transfer fund wise and we still dont have a stadium. If mores would have had the balls he could have taken the loan out against the club himself to fund the ground as we are in debt up to our eyeballs as it is due to the takeover and nothing to show for it.

Torres, mash and co were bought by the banks and not the other two cockroaches.

I know there are some people who will not agree with my assessment of things but thats just the way i see it. It ****ing hurts to see us not winning and being top dogs but you know what is worse the look on my dads face when he goes on about the great liverpool teams and knowing i never really got the chance to see that or experience those things i am 27 now so was young in the late 80's i remember it but not like my dad did when he was in his 20's seeing us as the best. For that i blame Moores

          Sack Moores and Parry...
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

we sorted out our deficiencies from last season - beat the top teams and only lost 2 games - we just need to beat the **** ones next year. No prob - a few tweaks here and there...

but i just think next year will be so much harder, we have to do it all again plus more. we have to beat united home and away, again, and take points off chavs and the arse. its going to be tough....and even if ladyboy leaves ,they will have 70 milion to rebuild, while we are still fapping about over a player we need come late august and trying to bargain over an extra/less 1 mil on the price tag

I think those days are over with Parry out the door mate. Rafa will go out and get deals done ASAP as he deals with that now. Wouldn't surprise me if he has them pretty much sorted now.

                        1. if it wasnt for rafa benitez, we would be feeling far, far more depressed about this.
                        2. we were close, very close to winning it again. the champions had to get a result in the 2nd to last game of the season. thats light years ahead of where we've been since 1990.
                        3. did you really expect that they wouldnt equal our haul of 18 this time last year? honestly?
                        4. we are on the up, they arent. dont care what you say. his signings recently have been dodgy and if they do lose ronaldo and tevez (along with scholes and giggs) i'll be pissing myself watching them trying to compete with villa. seriously, who are they going to sign exactly?
                        5. if we push on with two or three signings of our own that work out (and make us more clinical) then we are the major threats next season and possibly a lot of people's favourites.

dont worry about it. man u, in fairness the the shower of w@nkers have achieved something over the last 15 years so whilst they're rivals, there's no arguing that they deserve their moment of glory. at least we're back at the top. all we can ask for is a real chance of winning the title. rafa benitez has given that to us again.

A lot of truth in this post. barnes10 is spot on. Like Chelsea their squad is ageing. I expect next year to be a four way struggle with it likely to be between us and Arsenal. i just have this feeling that they'll be contenders next year. Wenger is no mug.

As for UTD. I reckon they're all loving this... but in a few weeks I think we'll all be a lot lot happier.

I expect Barca to win the Champions League.

And as for number 19. Its not that far away. Just like number 6.

IMO We lost the title and gifted it to them. We have been the best team this season from start to finsih.

                                Few things...

Firstly, all this 'they are finished, they are ageing, they are on a downward spiral' etc etc is very wishful thinking. But we've been saying it annually, for around a decade. Ferguson has built four different teams in his time and he keeps winning the title.

All this talk of them being a spent force, is nonsense IMO.

Yes, they havent been the United side people have got used to, but they were still better than us. Tables dont lie after 38 games and they'll still finish top even after we did the double over them, which is effectively worth 12 points.

I hope we go one better next season and i wouldnt rule it out, but if people are really expecting United to just drift away into nothing next season, they're likely to be disappointed.

As for us and Arsenal being the main contenders - cant see that, Arsenal are lightyears behind. Of course a lot will depend on who signs which players, but Wenger's got a chasm to overcome - just like it was nearly impossible for us to go from 4th to 1st in one season, the same can be said of Arsenal. They're far more inferior to Man Utd right now, than we were a year ago.

I dont think we've been the best side, i think in the last 2 months we certainly have and we've played some great stuff, but amidst all the brilliant football we've been playing, it's easy to forget how dire some of our home performances were - and how often it happened.

7 draws at home - against Stoke, West Ham, Fulham, Hull, Man City, Everton and Arsenal - in the majority of those games, we were dull and lacked any cutting edge.

The mancs have had similar games, but they've had 4 players to turn to on a regular basis, in order to find a winning goal, whereas we only have 2. In their case, the probabilities of them finding that goal were always bigger than they were for us, simply because they have twice the number of genuine matchwinners that we do.

They won a lot of games 1-0 and werent as attacking as they have been in previous years, and yes, we've all slated them saying how ****e they were and how lucky they were to win those games, but in reality, something which happens so frequently cant just be down to luck, it's not rational that anyone would be so lucky so often.

The fact is, when they were playing poorly, they remained water tight at the back and found that little something extra going forward. We talk as if it's no great achievement to be winning games 1-0, but the fact is, had we been able to do it in our home games against WHU and Fulham, we'd be playing tomorrow's game with the chance of going top and having our title destiny in our own hands going into the final game.

Nobody ever rectifies any problem without admitting that it's there, and this season has been a great learning curve for us.

I have confidence that Rafa recognises what's needed. Every time he speaks about the battle with Man Utd, he talks about the money they've spent and correctly identifies that it's enabled them to be in a position where they have four matchwinners, compared to our two. Rafa can see that this has been the difference, and i'm hopeful he will remedy this situation in the summer.

Hopefully, this time next year, we'll be enjoying the fruits of his labour.
