Benitez looks the bigger man in all of this. A classy man at a class club.

In which case I agree. **** him. This was a nice gesture from Rafa, about a matter more important than football. However, Ferguson was apparently 'surprised' Rafa didn't personally laud him, take his pants down and lick his rectum dry. He has enough cronies to keep his ego sufficiently massaged without Rafa getting in on the act.

      **** him.

      Fergie surpised by Rafa snub
United boss surprised that Spaniard failed to congratulate him

By Richard Bailey Last updated: 23rd May 2009

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted he was surprised that Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez refused to congratulate him on his latest title triumph.

The duo's feud continued when the Spaniard decided to congratulate Manchester United as a club while openly snubbing Ferguson after the Red Devils claimed their third straight Premier League crown last weekend.

The Scot has refused to get drawn into another war of words with the former Valencia boss though, with his side just four days away from the UEFA Champions League final against Barcelona.

The Liverpool boss is said to still be angered by the belief that Ferguson has special privileges as a manager; thoughts he famously aired during a press conference in January.

      "I was surprised," Ferguson said.

"But really, it was a great season for us and I am not worried about anyone else."

Control (Or a sly dig at Rafa's fight for control at LFC?.)

Meanwhile the 67-year-old has revealed that he didn't feel in complete control at Old Trafford until he secured the club's first league title for 26 years in 1993.

It seems unthinkable now, considering the former Aberdeen chief is on the brink of his third Champions League title with the Old Trafford club, but his first four years at the Theatre of Dreams yielded little in terms of silverware.

"I have changed since I came to United," he added.

"Maturity brings a different type of person. How would I put it? Well I'm far more intelligent than when I first started.

"But the best way to sum it up is that now I am in control. You can't be in control when you are not winning.

"It's only when you have success that you can get that control.

"That's the same for every football coach who goes into a football club - he will never have control until he is successful."

When was the letter sent?. The weekend of the cup semi final when ferguson preferred to be in Wembley than in the hospital?

So maybe reading between the lines he was saying we'll look after your family here in Liverpool if you cant be arsed to come here
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

To clarify, not believing was a bit harsh, it just sounded a bit far fetched. Perhaps your friend was only aware of him staying for 5 minutes on that one visit, perhaps he came another time and stayed longer. Or maybe he did actually only stay 5 mins. It just sounds unbelievable, like him or not, i cant envisage family members just staying for a few mins in such circumstances. Either way, it's not that important i spose.

What i should've said was 'i dont believe it' rather than i dont believe 'you'. Apologies.

Stick to your guns, Aza. He was calling you a liar.
                                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
