    Has Rafa been...

Conned into signing a new Contract unknowing what the two Pr!cks have been hiding (Money Losses) etc, or, IS their a twist in this fiasco and we ARE getting the Takeover we so desperatly need !! enabling Rafa to sign those top Players that we need.

Think about it for a moment, would Rafa really be so dumb as to sign a new Contract (and, his most important player's do so too, knowing that the Club's Ficancual future was a complete shambles!! Personally, i think that their is going to be a major announcement rather soon (no info, just a hunch) and that the new Stadium, future etc, will be sorted out once and for all and i also think that Rafa, knows this deep down too.

Remind me, when is that refinacing loan is due to get repaid

The loss is from July 2008 so i am sure rafa is well aware of the situation and was when he signed his contract. Contracts nowadays are not worth the paper they are written on.

This debt news is nothing new.

Everybody knew that the current set up of the club isn't sustainable longterm without significant revenue increases i.e. the new stadium.

We'll continue to lose large amounts of cash each year while we have such a large amount of finance taken out against the club.

i know what you mean ,but i cant see someone has shrewd has Rafa falling for it, that's why i am optimistic despite the media outcry this morning, i just have this sneaky feeling that a deal is in place to buy the club i don't know why but i just cant see the new deal for Torres and other players being made without some assurances there advisor's cant all be mugs.

I thought you might be reading too much into it and giving in to wishful thinking, but on one hand there may be a case for looking at that angle.

Extending players' contracts will always make them more valuable and increase the value of the club's assets (players) so that's one obvious reason why it'd be done, but with someone like Torres, we havent actually extended his contract, we just gave him a pay rise, with the OPTION of an extra year, so i wonder why the owners would sanction a pay-rise if their financial situation is in the dire straits that it is.

Might be a case of wishful thinking, but i'm reluctant to dismiss the possibility completely out of hand, which was my first instinct when i read your post.

The Americans dont want to sell the club but they do have a party lined up to buy the club or a share in the club.

Cant see us being sold anytime soon.

I really fear for the future, I do not believe we will be able to compete with Manure or Chavski until two years after our new stadium is built. When that willl be? Nobody knows... For me, either the Yanks MUST GO NOW or next year will be next year will be next year waiting to bring home no 19. I hope im very wrong, but i fear not.

I suspect that the simple fact is that the financial problems aren't as bad as is made out and that G&H are pretty confident that a sustainable refinancing package will come through.

It's clear that talk of starting the stadium is a fantasy but other than that I think that our increased revenue will see us through at least for teh next few years.

wasn't it in torres's original contract that when he reached 50goals he would get a payrise.

                        Benitez happy with war-chest
by Ben Blackmore , 09 June 2009 [Setanta]

Rafa Benitez has rebuffed media reports by insisting he is happy with the amount he has to spend this summer.

Liverpool parent company Kop Holdings Ltd revealed severe debts last week, despite the club itself recording multi-million pound profit.

As a knock-on effect, it was reported Benitez would have a mere £15 million to spend this summer, scuppering plans to sign the likes of David Silva and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Benitez has laughed off the issue though, insisting he himself is going nowhere, and that Liverpool will be able to sign their two main targets.

“We knew it could be difficult because there is a crisis all around the world,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

“Clearly we don’t have too much to spend but I think we have enough money to add the one or two players that we need.

“I’m very happy with the squad we’ve got. This season has been really good and we’ve competed on all fronts.

“If we can sign one or two players then I’m really positive that we can improve.”
