Not sure where I heard it, but a story about Iraola telling his team that he wants them to put all of their energy into the game and then ask to be subbed if they have nothing let, no judgement guaranteed. Sounds like it’s going to be a huge intensity shock for the squad, and no doubt some will break down with soft tissue and hamstring injuries. It might take a season just to transition to that, physically. As long as the football is exciting, I’ll be patient.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Fine if not expecting to compete on all fronts. Think he may need to change too.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostNot sure where I heard it, but a story about Iraola telling his team that he wants them to put all of their energy into the game and then ask to be subbed if they have nothing let, no judgement guaranteed. I think most people like the style of play that his Bournemouth side had the main questions are will it translate to Liverpool where opposition sides will setup differently, and will his methods work when you have 2 games a week and something like 60 games in a season?
I think that we need a big squad, as things stand we probably need to bring in about 5 players who are either going to be starters or at least regularly involved and you wouldn't be upset if they played in big games, but we probably also need a few squad players as we seriously lack numbers. For me I would be tempted to keep the outgoings to a minimum and see if he can get something out of players like Elliott and possibly EndoLast edited by Exiled_red; Yesterday, 10:04 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We also need to make sure we focus on big athletic lads who are less brittle.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think most people like the style of play that his Bournemouth side had the main questions are will it translate to Liverpool where opposition sides will setup differently, and will his methods work when you have 2 games a week and something like 60 games in a season?

Well
Having watched a bunch of admittedly positive analyses, consider me whelmed
I feel like a specifically defensively minded midfielder is needed, tho last Grav was incredible in that role so if he can replicate that form, we good
I'd love Wirtz to play as a number 10, but would mean Dom playing alongside Grav / new DM. Does that reduce his effectiveness?
If so, he plays as the 10 with Wirtz as LM, tho his pace is a concern
I think RB will be a priority unless Frimpong can play like Kerkez under Iraola; and of course our big money signing should be RW
But again, watching the overly positive 'is Iraola a good fit for Liverpool' videos makes me excited againI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

This is a very long but very detailed look at what to expect. It also appraises the Slotera and I think summarises where it was going wrong.
