    Victor Munoz welcome to LFC

It’s all over the web & been confirmed on the Beeb & Let’s Go so welcome.

€40m for a player paid Real €5m a year ago & Real have a 50% sell on clause so they’ll be happy. Signing a 6 year deal apparently

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Liverpool are set to sign winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna after triggering his 40m euro (£34.6m) release clause.

Munoz, 22, is part of Spain's World Cup squad - and it is understood that Liverpool have staff in the United States to conduct his medical.

Newcastle were in talks to sign Munoz, after they sold Anthony Gordon to Barcelona, but Liverpool have won the race.

Munoz will become Liverpool's first signing since Andoni Iraola replaced Arne Slot as head coach earlier this month.

Thought it was all done and dusted him going to Newcastle - I don't think LFC have many friends there!

Absolute blockbuster business from the Reds this week! ???? Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards have pulled off the ultimate transfer market heist, executing a lightning-fast swoop to hijack Newcastle’s advanced negotiations. Liverpool triggered the £34.6 million release clause for Osasuna's highly coveted 22-year-old winger, Víctor Muñoz, locking him into a long-term six-year contract on Merseyside. ✍️

The dynamic Spanish international is currently away in North America for the World Cup, where he has already completed his medical examinations right at Spain’s base camp. With legendary figure Mohamed Salah departing, the squad was crying out for elite, explosive pace out wide, and this La Masia graduate delivers exactly that.

Muñoz brings a terr!fying level of directness to our attâçking ranks, ranking in the astonishing 98th percentile for successful take-ons across Europe’s top leagues. His tactical flexibility to wreak havøç on either flank gives new boss Andoni Iraola a dream weapon for our frontline regeneration.

A bit more info here Dan

Munoz managed just that, featuring 36 times for Osasuna, scoring seven goals and bagging five assists with some impressive performances to go with it, sealing himself as one of the most promising prospects in Spanish soccer as a result.

His play style surrounds his pace and hard work, as Mundo Deportivo reports that he was among one of the quickest players in La Liga last season

Love that there was no noise around this, no idea who he is but hopefully more Mane than Markovic

Stylistically reminds me a bit of Luis Diaz from that YT compilation - we've really missed someone who can carry the ball with pace from deep like he did. From the pics I've seen, he also has a passing resemblance to Diogo Jota.
