    Welcome Samuel Martinez

    Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Samuel Martinez from Atletico Nacional.

    The 17-year-old attacking midfielder will join the Reds' Academy ranks ahead of the 2027-28 season, after a move to bring him to the club was completed.

    Martinez starred for Colombia as they were winners of the U17 South American Championship in April.

    He featured in all six of his country's games at the tournament and registered three assists, including one each in the 3-0 semi-final defeat of Brazil and 4-0 final victory over Argentina.

      Talk was he was going to be loaned back to them for a year if I’m not mistaken?

        ???????? Liverpool have completed a move for highly-rated Colombian teenager Samuel Martinez.

        The Reds have agreed a fee of around £750,000 ($1m) with Atletico Nacional for the 17-year-old attacking midfielder, who was courted by a host of leading European clubs including Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

        Martinez underwent medical tests at the weekend on Merseyside before his transfer officially went through. He has signed a five-year contract, while as part of the deal Atletico Nacional will receive a percentage of any future sale of the player.

        The youngster will remain at the Colombian side for a further 12 months and will arrive during next summer's transfer window after turning 18 in April.

        Liverpool will have input about his development in the interim period, with the player expected to take part in the U17 World Cup later this year.

          He isn't coming here for a year I think this might be something to do with not being able to bring in players from overseas that under the age of 18 right?
          The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
