Such a heartfelt apology too
Doing things like this in my name is not on.Originally posted by Spirit of ScumSpirit of Shankly (SOS) is aware that video footage has been posted on the internet from the SOS End of season party on 24th May 2009. This footage shows an unscheduled performance which the SOS Events Commitee had no prior knowledge of. The Events Committee will endeavour to increase back-stage security for future events to ensure impromptu performances like this do not happen again. We are sincerely sorry for anybody who has been offended by this footage, and we do not condone such behaviour.
Shanks would be turning in his grave.

- bollocks - it looked a pretty big and well organised event in the name of SOS with a big ****ing banner that someone involved must of got hold off! - it's not as if about 30 people who follow SOS were on the lash and by chance decided to through a huge banner up in the pub and have a sing song! - it's a co-ordinated event! They've really really ****ed up!
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Liverpool party shame
Internet footage of the Spirit of Shankly group's end-of-season party at the Olympia in Liverpool a fortnight ago has sparked outrage in Manchester after a musician at the event was captured on film starting a chant about Munich.
Standing beneath a 12-foot high Spirit of Shankly banner, the singer's chant is apparently joined by hundreds in the room.
The individual who placed the footage on Youtube commented:
"I think they've disgraced the 96 who so tragically died at Hillsborough when they mock the dead like this." In expressing that the SOS group is "sincerely sorry" for the episode, the group said in a statement:
"This footage shows an unscheduled performance which the SOS Events Committee had no prior knowledge of.
[It] will endeavour to increase back‑stage security for future events to ensure impromptu performances like this do not happen again.
"But that does not explain how the singer was allowed to remain on stage for at least five minutes afterwards.
A spokesman did not return calls.
The actual song wasn't offensive and the lad on stage appears to be almost shoting Rooney to drown out the morons shouting Munich.
"So we we went to Istanbul for a football game
Where destiny called us again
Three nil down, the whole world had called it a day
But they hadnt counted on....the Liverpool way"
La, la, laa, laa.
the shout of Munich, was added in by the crowd.
Munich is not even in that song, it's just that the crowd took it to far.

-well they have ****ed up here, that could be the end of it for them! - any credibility they had will be washed away - certainly in the eyes of the media and other teams fans. your average say Fulham fan, who knows little about it will see an SOS banner in the kop and think - "oh they are the part of the group of cunts who sing about munich, bunch of thugs" etc

Do you think the club will allow SoS banners in the Kop now? After all, they don't want to be appearing to condone what we have just seen. Like you said, all credibility for them has now gone. Especially as the article above says it's the members of the group shouting it and adding it into the song!Originally posted by PTP View Post

There is a part of me that is hoping there will be a splinter in the group called something like Sons of Spirit of Shankly to show the completely farcical nature of the whole thing. If nothing else it would give PTP a good excuse to post that Monty Python picture again."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
