    Former Red Titi Camara has been appointed manager of Guinea.
    The popular striker who scored memorable goals against Arsenal and Coventry City was signed by Gerard Houllier from Marseille.

    Capable of the unexpected he showed great commitment when he played and scored in the 1-0 Anfield win over West Ham, just hours after the death of his father in October 1999.

    "It is an honour to manager my country," said Camara.

    "It is a dream to play for your country but it is the ultimate dream to manage it.

    "I will do my utmost to make the country proud. I will give everything I have got like I always did when I was playing. There are a lot of talented players in this country."

    I didn't even realise he was involved in coaching or management, but good luck to him!

      Always thought he was a bit of a cult hero. Erratic but talented, I'll always remember his goals against Coventry and Arsenal away. Good luck to him.

          I can't describe the joy Titi's goal at Highbury gave me. That was the last time we won at Arsenal IIRC. I was at the Kop end where Titi scored in that Coventry game and technically that was a brilliant goal, better than the one at Highbury, but the goal at Arsenal will be my personal favourite.
