As a result media organisations have been cutting reporting (and other) jobs so that more agency copy is passed off as proprietorial content while fewer journos are required to pump out more stuff. So less is checked while more spurious stories are sourced from wherever, including fan sites and dodgy sources. They're desperate for copy so happily listen to any old ****e pumped out by any vested interest, especially, at this time of year, agents.

Rather than checking stories, media organisations now seem to work on the principle that if a rival 'credible' news organisation has published a story then they have checked it. Quite often though, under the pressure of deadlines, completely inaccurate stories (whether deliberately fabricated or simply the result of genuine misunderstanding or mistakes) slip through one news source's sub-editors and checkers so that then everyone from the BBC to The S*n repeats it.

It's no wonder standards, never really very high at the best of times, have fallen as fast and almost as far as public respect for MPs.

'Why' is always a better question.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I've my doubts about Ngog tbh. Still has time on his side but i'm just not convinced he'll prove to be good enough for us.
