Tough start really...start of the season, full of vim and vigour, relishing playing in the big time....i'd rather play them later on, when they've taken a few batterings and their morale is lower, when the excitement of the crowd has died.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostMancs first two games, against newly promoted sides. Nice little start.

Don't you think the beginning of the season is the worst time to face newly promoted sides though? At least that's what most of us seem to say when it happens to us!Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostYep, and finish at home to Stoke too. Isn't it nice how they're always so well looked after.Like blood on iron

have a look at the bbc football page, there's a whole feature about what goes into making them and how one team can affect 20 or more others. Its a good article but it still doesn't explain why we start and finish away from ****ing home.Originally posted by Rich View PostI think there are so many factors that go into creating the fixture list that any semblance of random is far, far removed.Always borrow money from a pessimist. Can work both ways, they're full of beans and optimism, but also green and naive. Later in the season, they could've taken a few batterings and died out, or they might have got their feet on the ground, assessed the league a bit better and be better equipped.Originally posted by Scratch View PostTough start really...start of the season, full of vim and vigour, relishing playing in the big time....i'd rather play them later on, when they've taken a few batterings and their morale is lower, when the excitement of the crowd has died.

Man City at OT will be a walkover for the scum. Out of the 6 games they have after CL games, 2 are hard. The rest will be piss easy. If they'd had City away and Villa away, then yeah, it'd be tricky.Originally posted by S-RED View PostChelsea have spurs (H), us (H), Blackburn (H), Mancs (H), Arse (A), Everton (H)

Opening day fixtures in recent years:
Last 16 seasons:
Arsenal: 12 home games
Chelsea: 10 home games
Man Utd: 9 home games
Liverpool: 5 homes games
Last 5 seasons (the Benitez era):
Arsenal: 4 home games
Chelsea: 4 home games
Man Utd: 4 home games
Liverpool: 0 homes games
Hmmmmmmm……Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful
