Allardyce: City can topple Liverpool and Arsenal

Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce believes Arsenal and Liverpool are more vulnerable to Manchester City’s spending power than Manchester United and Chelsea.

The former Bolton and Newcastle United manager suggests Liverpool and Arsenal may be pushed out of the higher echelons of English football by City’s astronomical spending, which looks like likely to continue with the signing of Carlos Tevez and potentially Samuel Eto’o.

Allardyce told the People: “Chelsea did it when Roman Abramovich came in and I have no doubts City could do the same.”

“Chelsea had no impact for a decade before he came in - and then they won the League and broke the domination of the Big Two at the time, Manchester United and Arsenal, to make it a three-horse race.”

“City look like they are intent on getting to that level and if the spending is on the same level of Abramovich then I am quite sure they will have a major impact.”

“And I believe that spells real danger for both Arsenal and Liverpool.”

“I think they will be more vulnerable and they will be very nervous about what City are doing.”

“All of a sudden they are under threat. They have been in the top four so long that each year they have been able to set their budget in advance because they know they will be in the Champions League.”

“Now that could all change. And if City do take one of their places it could be catastrophic financially because it could cost them £25m or more if they aren't playing in the Champions League.”
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

Surely the teams that finished 3rd & 4th (Arsenal & Chelsea) are most vunerable?

City's zillions also affects ManU directly due to them nicking all their £25m+ targets. Rafa has never been in for this type of player so he just goes about his transfe activity as normal.

I agree to some extent as us and Arsenal don't have the money of Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City.

However if I were Allardyce I'd be more worried about my own club's position.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He is just bitter that 4 of the 5 biggest jobs in england are taken by foreign managers

                1 Liverpool / Rafa
                2 England/ Fabio
                3 Chelsea/ Carlo
                4 Arsenal/ Wenger

He prob feels he will never get the chance to manage at the top due to these "dirty foreigners" So just slags them and the clubs off. I wish he would **** off and go play in traffic.

                Good old Sam BNP Allardyce

Its him, Fergie and Hughes against the world!

****. This is the first time I can recall that there is not one player in the Manu midfield that I would swap (like for like). Fergie has a huge amount of building to do there, a huge amount.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

These players need to sign first and while it looks like Tevez is all for joining the gravy train, Eto'o looks like he may well do a Kaka.

So do Man Utd and Arsenal - United can't do without the C/L for more than one year, just like ourselves. In Arsenal's case, it means they can only spend £20.00 a year instead of the £5m they have at the moment.

Man utd rely on the C/L money, the C/L gate receipts just as much as we do

On the other hand Fat Sam's chances of managing a top 4 team seem to be getting further and further away.

Goddamit they keep hiring competent non-english managers! If only fat sam were not english maybe fat sam could get a top four job. **** you fat sam you incompetent gob****e.
                        Really?
