Samuel L Jackson is a red

Found this in the Hate Mail...

Hollywood superstar Samuel L Jackson refused to hide his love for Liverpool as he flashed off his replica Reds shirt in a public display of affection at the annual ESPY awards in Los Angeles.
The actor - who is understood to have a clause in all of his film contracts that allow him breaks during production to play golf - proudly paraded his Liverpool jersey on the red carpet at the star-studded sports ceremony, which he hosted on Wednesday night.
You'll never walk (on the red carpet) alone: Samuel L Jackson proudly displays his Liverpool shirt at the ESPY annual sports awards ceremony in Los Angeles

Jackson has been a devout Anfield fan ever since he starred in the 2001 Brit flick The 51st State, shot on location in Merseyside, where his character Elmo McElroy takes in a Liverpool-Manchester United clash during the drug drama's cilmax.

In an interview with The Word magazine in January this year, the 60-year-old revealed his title hopes for Rafa Benitez' side, adding most people are baffled by his love for the club.
He said: 'Title challenge this year? Yeah, they got a really good chance. It's a good team and they're playing well together - better than in a long time.
Fan zone: Jackson has his name emblazoned on the back of his Reds jersey

'I put my Liverpool gear on every now and again, and people say '"what the hell is that?"'
Jackson explained that he caught the 'whole soccer bug' whilst he was shooting The 51st State and the actor is certainly no stranger to the Kop.
He added: 'I went to Anfield to see the derby game when I was there, against Everton? That was cool. I enjoyed that.'

My sister met him when he was over here filming that crap film. She met him and Bobby Carlyle in Magnet on Hardman Street. Me sis had been an extra in the audience for ‘that scene’ in the Full Monty, so her icebreaker was “Hello Robert, you don’t know me but I’ve seen your cock”.

Apparently they were very friendly, particularly Jackson who seemed smitten with the city.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Be honest, this is one of those stories where you substitute someone else in place of yourself

                Carlsberg's gotta be loving that...

One of the things that drew me to being a Liverpool supporter was my understanding of the city as a working class place, much like my own hometown of Flint, MI. Places like that are hard to find here in the USA, I wonder if Jackson's own background enhanced his appreciation of the city and its relationship to the club. ??

"Jackson was born in Washington, D.C. He grew up as an only child in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his mother, Elizabeth Jackson (née Montgomery), who was a factory worker and later a supplies buyer for a mental institution, and his maternal grandparents and extended family. His father lived away from the family in Kansas City, Missouri and later died from alcoholism; Jackson had only met his father twice during his life. Jackson attended Riverside High School in Chattanooga. Between the third and twelfth grades, he played the French horn and trumpet in the school orchestra. He later attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, where he co-founded the "Just Us Theatre" before graduating in 1972.

                sounds right to me...

                    Are you Michael Moore?
                    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

No, but I've met Michael a few times and know his work very well... The city used to be 300K plus people, but now it is around 80K due to the General Motors factory closings. My parents still live there... very sad situation.

I've met Michael Moore a couple of times too. First time he was eating. Not really a surprise there I suppose.

                            True story.

Bad state of affairs about GM. It's affected me too to some extent.
