Twittering Players

Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres have Twitter accounts. While I enjoy the outrage from the luditites on the board, I think they are interesting insights sometimes. Other times, the lads mention what they ate for breakfast. Again, not required reading. Take for what it is worth.

Gerrard just started Twittering again this afternoon with the following (sic):

"Havent been on for a while, cant wait for the season to start.... wish michael all the best with his move to united..."

"I hoped we would try and take a chance on him.. but the gafa wouldnt have it.. it would have been good to train with him again.."

"Other news. glen is a great bloke and a great player he should really sure up our defence for next season.. thanks to all and keep following"

Torres is here:

"Olalla and I appreciate the congratulation, we are relaxing with Nora & family in Galicia for the time being."

So, again, I hope this doiesn't turn into a referendum on the Twitter pheomenon, yours to take for whatever you want, but if interested, there you are.

I don't think we can really criticise Nando for his English (as some-one appears to have done) - it's a lot better than my Spanish - and frankly it's a lot better than some of the English I see from English speakers on these and other boards.

Stephen Fry and David Lloyd (if you like Cricket) are both good value. Only just got on it really myself so I haven't got that many.

Twitter had a problem initially with fake celebrity accounts but I believe they put some sort of team in place to stop it. The fakes were weeded out and I'm pretty sure the likes of Stevie and Nando would have had their accounts deleted if they were fakes. LFC has an official presence on there too, so would be on top of any bull****.

Stephen Fry's is brilliant. As is Charlie Brookers, Andi Peters, Phil Schofield and Jonathon Ross. There's loads I know of that are decent, PM me and I'll drop you a list I'm john_galaxy on there if anyone fancies following. As for these two LFC ones, neither seem to be following the offal which makes me dubious
