Ideally for me I'd like someone to come in and bridge the gap between Torres and N'gog - someone with similar qualities to voronin(experience but cheap) but er better haha
    Babel still exists.

I think Citeh are putting an offer in, it's just a matter of time before they get down to the letter V on the list of strikers.

thats a fair point forgot about that lad - I do think with a bit of confidence, and half a brain babel would be ideal but i am just not sure if he has the mentality to cover torres and play in front of gerrard. The last season he went from being potential Henry to a dead ringer for Djbril Cisse

If we signed say Silva so we had him and riera battling out on the left, i think babel would be suited to move up and challenge torres but he would really need to pull his head out of his arse

Babel isn't bad as a lone striker. He's strong, pacey and a pretty good finisher. Very underrated there. I don't think we need to sign a striker.

Babel's head does not work as quick as his feet. If he sorts that out and thinks about what he is doing when on the ball, instead of head down and dribble, he would be great.

Big IF though, shown no improvement last season.

i am hoping we get rid of Babel and Vrononin if we get Sneijder, Silva and negredo

hmmm - i challenge this - i remember last season Babel having a bit of a moan, he wasn't getting a game and when he was he was stuck out as a left winger and he was complaining that he wants to play down the middle and blah blah.

Now I defo remember though I can't remember the exact games - babel did actually get a few chances to prove his worth as a lone striker - iirc one game might have been madrid away when he came on for the last 35 mins or so, another might have been in the carling cup, i may be wrong but anyway there was a few times when I thought "ok ryan, here u go, u have had a moan but you are know playing up top down the middle like you want, go out there and give us something to think about"

and do u know what he did, he wandered round with his head in the clouds like a camoflauge wearing invisible mother ****er chamone.

I was disappointed, i thought go on ryan, get out there, chase defenders, run after lost causes, put urself about, and ****ing but the effort in so that when you come of the pitch you will make us think - fair play to babel he worked his bollocks of there for 30 minutes up top on his own, that might give rafa something to thing about - no, unfortantley ryan babel sauntered about giving him no back up to all his moaning, his mouth was writing cheques his body couldn't cash.

everything i have seen of Babel tells me he is over rated not under!

I think Babel as a second choice striker would be a great shout.
Most of his appearances last season, came from the bench as a winger.

Deffo think he could do a job upfront.

not convinced he has the mentality to play second string to anyone though, he needs to go to a club like spurs where he could play week in, week out.

I don't think Babel has the mentality/intelligence to be a top player in any position. Certainly at the minute he is an impact player and not a starter at the minute. I would really rather we sold him and gave someone else a chance.

100% agree on this point, nowhere near the intelligence to play as a lone striker for us, which is sad, given he has the perfect physical attirbutes to be a success there.
