Ah I see now - you have to know someone personally and be privvy to their private thoughts before you can deem things they say or their actions as ****tish.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostAh, K, didn't realise you knew him personally and were privvy to his private thoughts.
If it really is about the money then I agree with you. Thanks for clearing that up

Exactly, see my sig.Originally posted by Van Halen View PostIt was disclosed "reportedly" £130,000 a week
No, but I believe it's awfully uncouth to call someone a **** based purely on an assumption.Originally posted by rudedog View PostAh I see now - you have to know someone personally and be privvy to their private thoughts before you can deem things they say or their actions as ****tish.
You're not calling him a **** for his actions, you're calling him a **** for his motivations which we can only speculate on.

I'm calling him a **** for both - its his ****tish actions which have led to me speculating on his ****tish motivations resulting in my conclusion that he is in fact, a **** - I'll make sure I elaborate more in futureOriginally posted by EwarWoo View PostExactly, see my sig.

Rafa didn't have a go at him. In a news conference a journalist brought the subject up, not Rafa. And he just replied that he thought Barry's move to City was all about money. That was that. He didn't bring the subject up, didn't rant and rave about it, but made a very brief reply to the journalist who asked him a specific question. It was other newspapers that tried to make stuff up about it - "Rafa blasts Barry" etc, which was far from the truthOriginally posted by EwarWoo View PostHuh? Rafa had a go at him and he had a go back? Not sure how that makes him a ****?

He still had a go. He could have said he was disappointed and left it at that. He could have said we have other plans. By saying he thought it was about money he had a go.Originally posted by Redspin View Postournalist brought the subject up, not Rafa. Not really. He was asked about being in for Barry, with regards to why we didnt get him. The answer is simply money. Rafa didnt do anything wrong in that scenario.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostHe still had a go. He could have said he was disappointed and left it at that. As usual with Rafa the media grab hold of everything he says and inflate it's importance tenfold, stressing certain words and reporting them out of real context, just so they have what they believe is 'A Story', this was everywhere as 'An Attack On Barry", when, if they hadn't brought it up Rafa wouldn't have even mentioned Barry.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostNot really. I have to say I agree with you there. The thing is, there really wasn't a need for it. Drawn a line under it I say, it isn't really important any more from Rafa or Barry. I hate playing all this out in the press.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostHe still had a go. He could have said he was disappointed and left it at that. He could have said we have other plans. I agree. He's entitled to answer back, especially with the amount of negativitivty aimed at him. If anything, Rafa is out of order for bringing it up/discussing it in the first place.Originally posted by EwarWoo View PostHuh? Rafa had a go at him and he had a go back? No it's not just with Rafa, whatever gave you that idea, as you say it's what they do, but i would just add that with Rafa, nothing he says ever gets past them, if there's anyway at all they can make it the slightest bit controversial then they will.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostIt's hardly just with rafa, it's the media - that's what they do.
While say Fergie, O'neil or Mark Hughes can get away with more, and as someone mentioned in another thread that has more to do with British managers getting an easier ride than foreign ones.
Now that's not at all to say the media would let a British manager off the hook if there was a 'GOOD' story to be told, but i do believe they are given far more leeway by the press when dealing with the more mundane quotes they make.
