I don't agree. Had it been Hull with more money and similar plans he would have chosen them. He states he would only leave Villa for the CL and then goes to City who are going to have to fight hard to even be in it the following year by which point he will be 30.

He is a professional footballer and however greedy you are you would still want to be at the top of your profession, look at Kaka turning down City. He's an england international is he not? it's highly unlikely that he has doubts concerning his ability.

but thats not the issue? its would you take

a) 100,000ish a week and go to a team that is almost certain to be challenging for the title for the next few years

b) 140,000 a week to go to a team that has a great chance of challenging for the title within a few seasons.

all this towards the end of your career playing for an above average non challenging premiership team

or

he signed 1 day into the transfer window, if it was trophies he wanted or CL football even, do you think he may have waited just a little bit longer than 24hrs into the transfer window to choose which club he was going to move to?
