I know its only pre-season and I shouldnt be negative but as ever its glaringly obvious that Voronin, Ngog, Nemeth and Pacheco are all not good enough to play up front for Liverpool. Without Torres we ALWAYS look ****. We need to buy a striker, we cannot go another season with Torres potentially missing a chunk of it through injury again

We dont, far from it. We've had some brilliant results and brilliant attacking displays without him. I agree we do need another quality striker though.

These are fitness tests with combinations of players that will never see the pitch otherwise... unreal the scrutiny on here.

That said, Insua continues to impress. He was excellent and I think he and Johnson, Carra and Agger should start from day 1. Just didn't put a foot wrong all match.

N'gog i think will improve massively this year, got a hunch.

Also now that rafa has been praising babel, he could be used as a striker more often this season, and he does his best work through the middle imo.

There is no such thing as a knock about pre season! Maybe end of season but not pre season. I just think that its good to get into the right frame of mind and for the team to get into the right momentum before the first game of the season. I have seen Uniteds and Chelsea pre season games so far and there not just having a knock about.

Its people or 'Plums' like you that will be the first to blame our poor pre season to date if we get off to a poor start in the premiership. Yes were there to generate revenue, but we should also be looking at our preparation for the start of the season. I personally aint bothered by the results, more so by the selection of players that you know Benitez is never goin to use during the season.

I see that you have made so many posts to date so you obviously know more about football than I do! I bet your even a more of a Liverpool fan than I am!

Actually there certainly is such a thing as a pre season knock about ! Pre season is all about Fitness levels and getting some game time under the collective belts. As the "Pre Season" moves along the games and the opponents become more serious and you start to see the shape of the team most likely to start the campaign. All teams follow this strategy and if you are not aware of that you are ill informed in the extreme. Jesus Pepe played in an Outfield position one Pre Season match. As for Chelsea and United Etc ... well Chelsea fielded Ivanovic, Di Santos, Mikel, Sinclair, Hilario, Hutchinson and Sturridge in the same team in there serious "pre season" friendly. Now I will bet you all the ****ing tea in China you will never see that teamsheet this season.

The game in Thailand is all about fitness levels and having a look at some players on the fringe. I never take pre seasons seriously and I take all performances with a very very large pinch of salt. If pre season is anything to go by then Bruno Shampoo should have picked up World Footballer of the year by now. Playing in Temp hitting the High 30's in 100 % Humidity through a flash rain storm is hardly conducive to total football.

I understand some of our most successful teams in our long illustrious History have had shocking pre seasons. As for post counts .. well mate most of that was talking about little green men in Tinfoil hats in the Library not sure that makes be a better fan or more knowledgeable about football .. Although if you take silly knock abouts in Asia this seriously I wonder .. The UFC on the otherhand i probably do

Good game - a lot of positives - Kelly and Spearing stood out from the reserves.

What can I say about Torres - not even in second gear and he looked frighteningly dangerous. I think we are about to have a very very good season.

Can't agree with Spearing and Kelly, thought they both played poorly. Kelly's positioning was really off.

If only we played a pub team and beat them 7-1 then all will be fine.

Ive done one after every pre-season game just to see how many people react.
