    New Stadium

Looks like it is going ahead. Someone on Shanklygates has posted this e-mail that he received:

"The big news at our company this week was that we heard that we were recently awarded the structural design contract for the new Liverpool football stadium. Two of our kiwi senior structural engineers are moving from NZ to our Manchester office to do the detailed design. Bill Hannan, who as you know is about to become part of our company, won the mechanical and electrical design contract, so the complete design will be by SKM. Good news for my shares."

This seems oddly specific for a wind-up (naming names etc.), and the original post had the name and address of the person who sent the e-mail (based in NZ). A quick google shows that SKM have been boosting their Manchester office with experts in sports design, and have just appointed someone who was involved with the City of Manchester stadium build. Seems very credible to me.

This ties in nicely weith the "Investmen News" also posted on Shanklygates and reproduced on a thread on here
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

Cheers for the update. Its seems that there has been movement on the stadium recently after a long wait, which can only be a good thing.

We'd all better invest some shares in SKM then!

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

My head is done in by all this stadium and investment talk. I don't know who to believe anymore and frankly it's getting boring now.

Already looked - they are owned by their employees so we can't buy shares

The one decent bit of insider-trading share-dealing knowledge I've come across and I can't use it!

Why are they designing the structure of the stadium now? It has been on the drawing board for 3 years, and building work is due to start in the Spring. It seems a bit late in the day now.

How much steel do they need? If they don't have the structure designed, they can't know, so how is it possible to know the cost of the thing?
                    Oh I don't know.

I would imagine that there is a big difference between the outline design and the detailed design. They probably have to work out all sorts of precise details like where the electrics go, where the air vents go etc.

They need to change the plans from 2003 to take account of the need for larger trophy room.

Surely they can just use the space that has been vacated by the LFC French foreign legion
