    Official fringe players

.tv is asking "Which of the following 'fringe' players has impressed you most in pre-season?"

The official fringe players are as follows:

Cavalieri, Degen, Voronin, Babel, Nemeth, Ngog, El Zhar, Plessis, Kelly, Darby,
Spearing, Pacheco, Gulasci, Martin, San Jose, Ayala

I'm quite surprised that Babel is listed on there even though he's not a regular starter.

To answer the question I'd have to go with the flow and answer Nemeth. I hope he gets a few games this year.

Nemeth, followed by Pacheco and Spearing. El Zhar didn't even play!

Kelly for me, and of course Pacheco.

I'd probably go with Nemeth although I was really impressed with Pacheco playing a slightly deeper role against Singapore.

He's not on the list, but I'll go for Insua seeing as this isn't .tv.

I think Insua is going to be a regular starter this season, especially since Fab is injured and The Doss is ****e (and probably sold by the time the season starts).

From what I've seen Insua has been one of our best players in pre-season.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Nemeth and Insua get my vote. Shame for El Zhar getting that injury early on taking his pre-season away from him. Rafa seems to rate him from what he's said in the past

Ayala, Pachecho and Nemeth for me.

Ayala because he gave the most composed performance of any of the young CHs. Kelly and San Jose both made mistakes which led to goals.

Pacheco as someone mentioned played really well in that deeper role, so even though he was frustrating in the more advanced role, that more than made up for it.

Nemeth, not just for the goals, but because his link up play has improved immensely.

I'd also add Spearing. Looked decent with Gerrard against St. Gallen. And for me he was one of the limited few who can have his head held high after the performance against Espanyol.

Against Espanyol he had a spell where he was dictating the play, demanding the ball and then starting moves. Must say I am quite impressed with Jay.
