Yup. I don't know the full details, but I guess the organizers (not Lyn) wanted the game to be played at Ullevaal (the venue of the game last year) which seats 25k. Due to the possibilty of Valerenga playing a euro qualifier the same date (both Lyn and Valerenga play their home games at Ullevaal), the game was moved to Bislett which seats 15k. Obviously LFC were promised a certain fee to come and the ticket prices sky rocketed. I normally travel to Anfield 2-3 times a year and spend maybe £4-500 in total every time (flights/hotel/tickets etc), but there's no way I'm paying 75 quid for a show match even though it's taking place 5 mins from where I live.

Yeah, we play **** nearly every time I'm there. The worst trip in terms of results was probably when we lost 2-0 to Benfica and drew 0-0 against Charlton four days earlier in march -06. The Hull 2-2 game December last year wasn't exactly great either. I should probably just stay at home and watch the telly.

Well that all seemed rather pointless really. It looked like we were playing our first pre-season game, not ten days from the start of the season.

And the team selection was very bizarre. I would thought at this stage we would start implementing some of the players will start with, or at least get the pairings right.

Ah well. Dossena looked good at least, as did Babel. Of the young lads, none stood out as being particularly poor or special. I think I would be looking for more from them. They were no worse than their peers today, but that isn't good enough. They need to stand out and impress to get in front of some of the bit part players.
