    Elisha Scott

I thought the above name was just that of a poster on this or another LFC site. My Dad visited Belfast City Cemetry today - traditionally reserved for Protestants. He was Catholic and, growing up there, it was no place for him, with most of his family (and mine I guess) buried in the Catholic Miltown Cemetry. Anyway, he was at the City Cemetry on a guided tour and noticed two new wreaths on one of the headstones. One was from Celtic Football Club and the other from L.F.C. Growing up in Belfast, my Dad thought it was Linfield and was bewildered why there was a Cetic wreath there. But on closer inspection realised it was the grave of Elisha Scott - a goalkeeper at Liverpool from 1912 to 1934 (longest serving player), after which he went back to Northern Ireland and successfully took part in the now defunct Belfast Celtic's successful sides of the 30s/40s (disbanded after Jimmy Jones was thrown from the top stand by Linfield supporters - breaking his legs in the process - the bigotry ddin;t start in the late 60s!).

Anyway, pls excuse my ignorance if this is common knowledge - thought it was interesting.

            Profile from .tv: http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/team/past_...players/scott/

"The legend of Elisha Scott will live forever in Liverpool folklore. Arguably the greatest goalkeeper to keep goal for the Reds, Scott remains one of the most famous figures to have represented the club, despite playing his last game way back in 1934."

Was in local news last week. Must have been an anniversary, hence the new gravestone.

Not sure if it's true, but I read somewhere that atletico turned down £30+mil for an old diego forlan.
                      Real madrid wanted him apparently
