Does that indicate Ayala is next in the peck order at CB and may start against Tottenham if Skrtel doesnt recover?

Although San Jose started the last one so maybe hes testing them both out?

Im a little surprised as i figured Kelly would be playing. Interesting that Riera is fit enough for the bench already

I'm not sure Rafa would want to play Carra and Kelly together are they are similar types of players (has he done so before?). Whereas the likes of Ayala and San Jose are more the ball playing CBs like Agger (no where near the same league obviously).

I could just be talking bollocks though. Wouldn't be the first time.

I think at present Kelly is a better option at RB than CB.

He's better than Ayala and San Jose though.

Aguero and Forlan for Ayala to contend with, lets see how he fares.

Bit off a mess this CB situation with a week to go.

Its cool. Johnson can play centre back if required. There's no point having 600 squad players if they never get a chance to play. Injuries give young players with little experience a chance and it should always be this way.

I hope Kelly comes on in the second half. Maybe this is Rafa's plan.

I have a feeling that Agger will be fit to start next week anyway. Probably out just now as a precaution, that kind of back problem shouldn't stop him playing for 90 mins. I would imagine he might be in discomfort but it shouldnt stop him managing to play against Spurs.

I would rather not have an inexperienced 'ball-playing' cb alongside Carra anyway if thats what San Jose and Ayala are? Kelly has looked far more capable to me and I would rather they were under orders to play no nonsense football
