    Lucas MOM so far....
there is definately something about lucas. he has impressed in bursts but whether he suits our team I don't know.

I'll say it now and may i be shat on by a thousand blue tits but i have a concern regarding torres. his first season was so good that its always hard to follow. and I know he's had injuries, but he misses a lot of chances, his touch is also poor when through on goal. he looked out of touch for spain and I think he'd benefit from having another real striker alongside him to share the workload. not in every game maybe for half the games. i think gerrard could easily move back and still be effective. we look one dimensional.

Yes, I can't really see where our plan b is at the moment. Who knows that the new season will bring though.

Kelly may be coming in the second half. It's all about experience because all of our centre halves are injured. The three of them!!! So, he ain't having much choice.

Looking at positives, our attack seems promising, with Benayoun/Insua and Kuyt/Johnson with Lucas calling the shots and getting forward. We need more strength in depth in our forward areas though as I'm not sure our replacements can bring in as much solution in terms of movement. We need to splash our money on an attacking player unless Rafa sees Babel deputising there.

Torres needs match practice, not another partner.

Torres is simply getting his way back to full fitness. He's nearly there, just needs the sharpness.

He'll be fine. A sharp Torres would have bagged 3 today, I'm not worried.

Don't think we'll be getting an attacking player, Rafa sees a place in the squad for Voronin, N'Gog, El Zhar and Babel. There's Riera too. Think it's going to be a CB and we're done.

Yeap, so does SG... he and torres aren't quite clicking yet.
Lots of little errors too one does not usually associate with SG. Although he looks a bit like he wonders whether he needs to go back more to help out..

                    Hope Carra's ok..

I think CB cover is definitely got to be the priority.
