He had the ball alot on the right, nothing really came of his crosses though. A few times has been left isolated against two or three blakburn players, our attackers seem to be attacking crosses in a straight line with their defence, would like to see someone dropping off and collecting scraps.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Pennant hasn't done a lot really imo. He seems to hold the ball up enough to let a defender get next to him, then try and take them on, rather than being decisive with the ball in the first place. One or 2 good runs and has drawn a few fouls, but I'm never convinced he's actually aiming his crosses and he just seems to run into trouble far too often.Originally posted by SlimOn the official site comms they are trying to make out Pennant had a good first half and was a constant threat. Is this a load of balls?I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.

And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Pennant's overdone it with the ball about 4 times already this half, gave them a chance there with a badly controlled chest, then went on a good run and just gave it away at the end. Poor decision making and lack of real vision in his play are glaring currently.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

I know he has only started his Anfield career and you have to give him a chance but I never thought he was good enough in the first place. A half decent player in a **** Birmingham team and nothing more. I really really hope the lad proves me wrong but......Originally posted by Ethpennant is brock - glaringly so - Rafa will ship him in the summer
Anyway he is off now for Luis.

Cheers. You've just confirmed what I suspected. He always seems to cut inside which is infuriating and slows the play down.
