I'm a big fan of Pepe, but WTF was he doing when they scored.
Caught in no mans land.
On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So it's Ning Nang Nong!
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning!
Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!
He seems to have caught that bug that most of our keepers get in their second season. It's almost as if he's trying to hard to prove that he's a top class keeper by trying to come for things that he shouldn't. had he stayed on his line today Benny Mcarthy would have had no chance of scoring. As it happened he let him have a free shot into an empty net. The defence could perhaps have helped out a bit more this season though.
There's a serious lack of confidence running through the whole team at the moment, it's making some people play within themselves and others try things they shouldn't. For the goal we conceded yesterday Aurelio was running around like a headless chicken trying to get the ball in their half instead of staying in position, Pepe tried to come and claim it when he had no chance, and Carra & Hyypia were nervously ambling around the box wondering what was going on.
Garcia when he came on actually came looking for the ball and tried to create, it gave the team a real boost everyone started to play a bit better. We need to start playing with that kind of confidence in ourselves from the off, because lack of confidence is catching and Pepe is definitely one of those who's caught it.

Our defence are not protecting Reina in the way they did last season.
Im just getting concerned that praps we are now staring to see the real Reina, a decent keeper who becomes an out-of-position flapper when put under pressure.
If you've lost your faith in love and music the end won't be long
Not another Reina bashing thread, these seem to crop up after every match. Stop making the man a scapegoat, he came for the ball, because the defense was ****. let's be honest Carra and Finnan were pretty **** yesterday. Hyypia was the one holding it together, asside from his one mistake, where he was dancing round the ball in the box.
Benitez put the blame on the two center halfs after the game and not reina...
"We conceded a bad goal in the first half and we made a mistake when our two centre halves were in a bad position" from the offal
"I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. Today I will begin walking the road to hell. But you will choose your own path. So, soon you may be seeing heaven. Choose the sword, and you will join me. Choose the ball and you join your mother, in death. You don’t understand my words, but you must choose. So… come boy, choose life or death."
"You would've been happier if you'd chosen to join your mother in her world. " - Ogami Itto
It's all psychological IMO.
Reina did it last season and cant do it this season, frame of mind is what its about and his confidence seems shattered.
Maybe Raf should think about a psychologist?
Personally, and i said it on the match day thread. Id like to see some motivation form the Martin O Niell school of motivation sometimes from the management.
For me, I thought the team looked asleep in the first half, still away on international duty. I know Rafa has his advanced methods, but sometimes i think we need a good riling before the games, i know im not in the dressing room, but get the feeling that Rafa is not one for shouting motivational speeches.
Also, im quite aware of our comebacks in cups lol, eg Istanbul and Cardif. lol.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Well, i thought it was the whole teams fault, we were caught light at the back which forced Carra and Sammi into bad positions. on a couple of occasions they seemed to swarm us at the back. the offside goal was similar early on, they just stolled through our defence.
We have to go back to basics for me. Thats defending properly first. which we havnt been doin of late.

Can i make it clear this is not a Reina bashing thread FFS whoever said it was. I was merely asking what he was doing.

it was me who said it was, and yes it is a Reina bashing thread, because I don't think he was clearly at fault for the goal. If you're going to talk about that, why not talk about his excellent save later on, eh?
