Martin Skrtel should return to action 'within two weeks', according to the Liverpool defender's agent.

Skrtel sustained a jaw injury in the 2-1 loss at Tottenham on Sunday after colliding with Reds team-mate Jamie Carragher.

The Slovakia international did not complete the 90 minutes versus Spurs and is now set for a period on the sidelines.

Skrtel's agent, Karol Csonto, told SITA: "It [the jaw] is not broken, just heavily cracked.

"According to the doctors, Martin should be back in action within two weeks and he should be wearing a special mask.

"I hope that they will find or create a new one for him."

Skrtel is keen to be available for Slovakia's World Cup qualifier versus Czech Republic on 5th September.

Csonto added: "He is not admitting the possibility of not playing in that game."

How the hell did he play an hour of football with a broken jaw?

The man is not human, the pain must have been excruciating.

Yep he ran around well and put in some effort in a central midfield that created absolutely nothing.

The only way forward for us imo is with a 442 as Craig has put, Gerrard back to the middle. We may still be within touching distance then when Aquilani starts to play. If we expect Lucas to dictate our play we'll be ****ed, the problem is I think Rafa rates Lucas and will continue to play him.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Ok. So our back four should consist of:

            Johnson Carra Ayala Insua

We are seriously vulnerable to the long throws and Stoke's bruisers, I am a bit anxious now.
            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

              Fair play to him.

I really thought that was a moment of complete stupidity by Carra, following on from one of his last few games with his outburst at Arbeloa. He needs to sort himself out.

Apparently the fittings have gone quite well so far:

Ayala would get killed by Stoke, there's no way I'd put him in. I prefer this:

                  Kelly Johnson Carragher Insua

                    i'd line up a back 4 as :

                    degen carra johnson dossena

johnson has played centre back before and as he quite a tall bloke could do a job for us with carra to help him. personally, for me, kelly and ayala aren't ready for a bruising game as stoke will give us.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

We really are down to bare bones. A **** way to start a season. Could be over before it's really started if we don't get these players back sharpish.

Worrying thing is we have got into this state and only really have 3 injuries: Agger, Skrtel and Aquilani
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

are you implying mr degen may have injury troubles?

I think the mention of Stoke playing a physical game and then suggesting we need to put our biggest pansy on the pitch is a bit of a contradiction.
