    Lucas back in Brazil squad.

Liverpool midfielder, Lucas, is in for the injured Kléberson. The player’s last game for Brazil was 11 months ago against Bolivia in Rio de Janeiro. “I’ve always worked with the objective of returning to play for Brazil but only those who I live with know how happy I am because of this. I want to thank everyone who backed my return [to Brazil] and I think this all happened because of the good spell I’m having at Liverpool. I had a great pre-season and I am accomplishing my main goal, which was to play in the team more regularly” said Lucas.

    Good news for the lad.

He'll be travelling longer hours too. Not ideal because both of central midfielders are south americans.

Is that the same Kleberson who got bombed out by the Mancs ?

Find it hard to believe anyone's behind him in the pecking order.

Not good news for us, but it comes with having good players.
What`s the odds on him and Mascher injuring each other in that game?

            On merit too, fair play.

The bit about being happy that he's playing more games for us though - i hope he realises it's mainly because Aquilani is out.

Predicted a few months back that he and Aurelio would be in the world cup squad and was laughed at (in work, not online).

Can’t see Aurelio making it now thanks to Insua, but still confident Lucas can.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I guess people will still argue Jay Spearing is better than him when one is in the Brazil full squad and the other couldn't get into the England U21's .
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

That'd be the same Kleberson who started in a world cup final then?

Forlan didn't make it at Man Utd but look at him go now.

but thats more down to exposure than anything else, whose ahead? Cattermole? wilshire? rodwell?

all players that have been given there chance at first team level.....the question is, is he not getting his chance because he is not good enough? or just unlucky in that last season he didnt have a chance, this sesaon Lucas has started well.

Being a big advocate of local players I'm sure I'd remember someone saying that, but I don't. What i do remember is people saying we should give Spearing a chance last season when Lucas was not performing. Especially due to the grief Lucas was getting at the time.

With regards to National teams you only get selected if you get exposure. Stuart Pearce has said numerous times that his preference is to pick players who play on at least a semi regular basis for their clubs. Spearing is not

In Dungas case I'd guess you'd have to play pretty much every game. Lucas is now doing this and is back in the squad.

All that needs to be said on this argument though is that Rafa watches both players in training everyday now with Spearing now in the first team set up, and Lucas gets picked ahead of him. So we know who the expert rates higher at this stage.

Add Noble and Muamba, Wilshire is obviously a special talent, but plays a more advanced position to Spearing and the rest.

If I had a spare hour I bet I could list 50 **** players who played in a world cup final.
